The only time I could see a trade is if a team is dying to get rid of a talented player because they commited a felony or something like that and get absolutely nothing in return.

There should be some teams trying to make a trade early like the Clippers. They need to right their ship so we will see if they do anything.

Clippers have absolutely no incentive to blow it up over the next two years since the Thunder still have their picks until 2028.

They don’t have control of their own picks, zero point to blowing it up. They don’t have a pick this year and OkC has swap rights for next year. Best course of actions is to try and win this year and next and then start fresh when all their contracts expire.

Tomorrow is December 15. Any predictions as to what the Kings' front office might do? I have no clue, especially since Mr. Perry says he has been working the phones, but completing a trade is complicated due to all the variables on both sides (or multiple sides) of the transaction.

The team he is connected to the most is the Knicks. I know it’s just the Cup finals but I doubt they would trade any of their guys, especially with money involved, until after Tuesday’s game.

I don’t think anyone is saying Sabonis is a #1 guy. Up to this point though he’s never been paired with a real top 5-10 guy. The narrative on him is a lot different if he’s next to say SGA and Chet. If your teams best players are Fox and Sabonis yeah you’re not going to be legit contenders.

Yeah you’re probably right. I like his fit on the Knicks, but I like him even more on the TWolves to solidify their bench. The question is are they willing to trade Mike Conley (expiring) since he’s a leader on that team and someone they’re loyal to.

The point is that you have to build around him in order to make a lineup fit and potentially compete as a better team, or already have a unique roster that he would fit with, while also being able to take on his big contract. He is difficult to pair players with successfully. Not really a plug and play guy at all

I’m not a Knicks fan and I could be way off here, but isn’t McBride more of a scoring PG? Not to say Dennis isn’t as well, but I think he can run the offense and set up other guys a notch above someone like McBride.

Yeh I don’t have an answer to that. I think it would take Mitchell Robinson for salary matching too so not sure what the plan would be there.

From what I recall, this convo started by saying hes the best player we've had since webber and that some think we should continue trying to build around him because its hard to get a player as good as him.

Its really hard to add a top 5-10 player around Sabonis. If anything maybe a team with an established top 5-10 guy can add Sabonis. But rumors are basically only the bad franchises want him.

it seems like a weird trade to pull off for the Bucks. They lose big time depth and they would probably have to give up their draft pick this year to do it given the Kings have to take on longer term money. Or they route the draft pick to the Nets and the kings just take on Kuzma and expirings with Portis going to Brooklyn. I dunno.
