Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

it seems like a weird trade to pull off for the Bucks. They lose big time depth and they would probably have to give up their draft pick this year to do it given the Kings have to take on longer term money. Or they route the draft pick to the Nets and the kings just take on Kuzma and expirings with Portis going to Brooklyn. I dunno.

Possibly, but what are they really losing here? Portis is still good, but LaVine is a significant upgrade on him. Kuzma is a massively negative asset at this point. And Harris is a throw-in for salary.

Portis is 8th in MPG, Harris is 12th and Kuzma is 7th on their team currently. That's not really losing many "foundational" type pieces. From their end, consolidating a bunch of "meh" into a legit 2nd scorer in LaVine to help Giannis seems like a no-brainer.

My problem would be on our end. We all want off LaVine, but is the C-Webb "flexibile pieces" deal really worth? Eh...

I would attach Keon to any trade involving Lavine or Schroeder or even Monk and Derozan if it meant getting off of these vets. I highly doubt Keon is back with Sacramento and he’s got trade value. He would be the sweetener.

How does a player of this description make 3 all-star team and 2 All-NBA teams?

Stats and team record are the primary factors with both. And also a general dearth of quality Centers league-wide for most of his career to date. Sabonis is an efficient scorer, gets gobs of rebounds, and is a talented passer when allowed to make decisions with the ball -- that's where his statistical dominance comes from. The passing is really where he distinguishes himself offensively but that doesn't count for much if the other guys on the floor won't give him the ball and/or don't know how to cut and create passing angles for him when he does have the ball.

There is a lot of potential there with Sabonis to continue to put up All-Star numbers but this freelancing style of offense we're playing this year does him no favors and neither does the lack of size around him on defense. He is sortof a deluxe role-player more than a go-to lead guy but I also don't think that should be taken as an insult. Really good role-players are the engines that drive their teams to success and allow those leading scorer types to look their best.

I would be much more in favor of keeping Sabonis through the rebuild if he were closer in age to Keegan and Nique since those guys appear to be the only two players that our current front office is interested in building around and they have the skillset and IQ to thrive playing off of a passing big like Sabonis. But there's a 4 year age gap between Keegs and Domas and it's closer to 6 with Nique. Their prime years are not going to sync up for very long and we'd also be trying to accomplish a rebuild with a max contract veteran on the books which is hard to do.

Players traded today can be reaggragated at trade deadline…..after today they can’t. At least it’s a deadline, could there be a deal done today? Probs not

I remain extremely interested in taking on IQ as someone if you give the keys to the team, he can take a leap into being an all-star. The numbers are all there. Signed for a very reasonable 32.5 for 3 more seasons after this. Raptors also control all their picks, so something like

IQ
Murray-Boyles?
1 FRP

Would be good enough to pull the trigger for me. 2 FRP if we don't get Murray

Sacramento: Kuminga, IQ, Moody and a first from Toronto and GSW

GSW: Barrett and Precious

Toronto: Sabonis and Monk

I don’t even need 3 1sts….id take 1 1st if it meant pushing it through
It’s two firsts (this year and 2028) and this years second. You could probably do a version without the 2028 pick and with the Kings keeping Keon but my thinking is that the Raptors would probably need some sort of guard help to replace IQ and Keon could be the 1 in their system since Scottie Barnes is pretty much their point guard on offense anyways.

If that clippers pick falls between 6-9 is easily trade our Minnesota pick and otw for it. Getting two top 8 picks in this draft could expedite our rebuild especially if one of them is top four. Imagine leaving the draft with Wilson/Brown or AJ/Brown

Just checked there picks they’d probably keep the clippers pick and Utah probably tanks and keep there pick. They’d have the rockets and 76ers pick phillys being around 12-20 that’s a good pick to target a lot of good prospects on that area

No way does Toronto do that IMO. Picks but not young talent like that. They probably should considering even though they are doing well, their roster balance is still a little off. They're pretty competitive so they wouldn't want to upset their chemistry much I would figure. Domas would be a great fit for them though.
