Unless the FA is very certain it can pull of a Kuminga deal pretty damned quick, the time is now to get someone who is signable and will provide some help. We don’t want to be left standing at the altar. Can we just freaking sign Boucher or Achiuwa and forget the Kuminga trade. Screw the dubs and screw Kuminga and his facade of being a high upside player. Just get a vet that is solid and play it out this year.
The thing is that the league at large would much rather the Warriors waste 20 million dollars plus of their cap space and push themselves into the apron paying a guy who their coach hates and would never really use than use that space on a player Kerr would actually like lol
I’m glad that Perry is being patient and letting this unfold how it should. So stupid. You have what, 2-3 years of Steph? Maybe? Age cliff can come for anybody at anytime.
You should not be wasting any valuable time you have with a player like Steph being petty.
Again, if they thought he was a foundation piece, he'd have signed already
Assuming we do a S&T for Kuminga and send out Saric, Carter, and 2nds, wondering if a trade with this framework would interest all teams…

DAL Gets: DeMar DeRozan
DAL Gives: Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall, Dwight Powell, & Olivier Maxence-Prosper
Why for DAL? Mavs get a good go-to scorer & playmaker to help keep them afloat while Irving rehabs. I originally had Monk as a good fit for them, but after they signed Russell, I don’t think that makes a ton of sense anymore.
PG - Irving / Russell / Exum / Williams
SG - Thompson / Christie / Hardy
SF - Flagg / DeRozan
PF - Davis / Washington
C - Lively / Gafford

MIL Gets: Malik Monk, Naji Marshall, & Dwight Powell
MIL Gives: Kyle Kuzma, Tyler Smith, & 2031 MIL 1st (Unprotected)
Why for MIL? Kuzma hasn’t been a good fit for the Bucks so they move him for two impact players that can help fill in around Giannis and Turner (in hopes that it gives them a chance of making another finals run in a weakened eastern conference).
PG - Monk / Micic / Porter
SG - Trent / Green / Harris
SF - Marshall / Prince / Jackson
PF - Giannis / Portis
C - Turner / Sims / Powell

SAC Gets: Kyle Kuzma, Caleb Martin, Olivier Maxence-Prosper, Tyler Smith, & 2031 MIL 1st (Unprotected)
SAC Gives: DeMar DeRozan & Malik Monk
Why for SAC? We have Schroder, LaVine, Ellis, Clifford, and maybe Westbrook in the backcourt. It would be good to clear that log jam by sending out Monk. With Kuminga being brought in, both starting forward spots are taken making DeRozan more expendable. However, Kuzma would be a decent forward off the bench that can provide some scoring punch and play either SF or PF (something DeRozan can’t effectively do). Martin’s a solid bench wing as well who I think fits Perry’s identity for this team. We also get a couple swings on a pair of young, athletic, long forwards in Prosper (7’1” wingspan & 8’8” standing reach) & Smith (7’1” wingspan & 8’9” standing reach) who maybe have an outside chance at carving out a valuable 3&D role down the road. As additional compensation, we get an unprotected 2031 1st to give us yet another 1st round pick to add to our warchest. Lastly, I’d waive Davis to get us to 15 players (assuming we sign Westbrook as our backup PG).
PG - Schroder / Westbrook
SG - LaVine / Ellis / Clifford
SF - Murray / Martin / Prosper
PF - Kuminga / Kuzma / Raynaud / Smith
C - Sabonis / Eubanks / Jones

Obviously we’re not competing for a championship with this roster, but this team feels much more balanced at the very least. And we’d have our high potential piece in Kuminga that we hope could develop into an all star while also having a lot of interesting young pieces developing in the background: Keegan Murray (25), Keon Ellis (25), Isaac Jones (25), Olivier Maxence-Prosper (23), Nique Clifford (23), Isaiah Crawford (23), Maxime Raynaud (22), & Tyler Smith (20).
Not to mention we’d have the following 1sts under our control…
2026 SAC 1st
2027 SAC 1st
2027 SAS 1st (Protected 17-30)
2028 SAC 1st
2029 SAC 1st
2030 SAC 1st
2031 SAC 1st
2031 MIN 1st
2031 MIL 1st
2032 SAC 1st

Yeah obviously the downside is taking back Kuzma but he’s only got 2 more years on his deal (aligning with LaVine & Schroder). Can we just NOT take Kuzma? Otherwise, I do like the overall idea.
For all you Ham fans, saw a video yesterday with him saying something will happen by this weekend. Think he was suggesting Kuminga to the Kings. There you have it.
I’m actually loosing interest in Kuminga, don’t like this wants to be the “guy rhetoric and hearing a couple podcasts saying he’s not the most willing passer and doesn’t adapt to team needs. I don’t really know, hate the Warriors, haven’t watched a game of theirs since our 1st round meeting.
I am definitely more keen on what the Rockets plan to do with all their forwards.
Sounds like more of a Warriors issue than anything else haha
Detroit has Hield before. I don’t think they want him backWondering how warriors fans might feel about getting Lavine. Seems like he’d slot in perfectly between Curry, Butler and Draymond.
SAC: Schroder, Moody, Kuminga @ $34.5M
GSW: Lavine
DET: Hield
This could also work with us having to include Keon or even as a 2 team trade where we take back Buddy
“We can’t sign and trade him for two second rounders and a young prospect, we refused to move him for Cam Johnson!!”
Well maybe you should’ve moved him for Cam Johnson then
If we give up Carter I’m gonna lose it who are we bidding against to have to give up a lottery picked prospect. Offer them monk if they don’t want him then let them keep kuminga
Eh, I disagree here. And I'm co-captain of the Carter brigade with sactownkid.
My only stipulation with trading carter is we better be getting an upside piece back. Kuminga is that and at a position of need.
I'd be angry if Keon were in the deal, but you'd at least still have Carter.
But why do we need to give them Carter we’re in a bidding war against ourselves the only other team even mentioned is Miami. It’s clear GSW doesn’t value Kuminga or he wouldn’t have been benched until injuries happened
Then again Kuminga is extremely young with untapped potential

I mean they can just retain him too. It'll f their cap, but they can do it.
Kuminga is a very good swing for the Kings. If it costs you a good prospect at our position of strength... eh that's probably fine
