Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

I

I’d be curious, not sold, about Jakucionis at 16, A country man of Domas and a big combo guard. He might just be a nice facilitator.
Then trade DeMar to Miami and get the 20th pick. Get another big and turn the corner soon.
Jakucionis isn’t going to last until 16

That’s not what I want to hear.
Yeah, I agree with Tetsujin on that one. I'd gladly take him at 16 but can't see him getting there. Would take a very, very hard look at Demin if he lasted to 16, but I'm not sure that's on the table either. Still, I think there's value to be had into the early 20s in this draft, so these ORL/MIA trade ideas - that seem at least remotely plausible from the other teams' side - that we could trade two offensively-talented but defensively-poor players to get two strong rotation defenders and two draft picks are starting to look like a promising way to "rebuild on the fly".

Right. Even if Kasparas isn’t on the board at that point, I’m still fine with that trade if we still end up with a Collin Murray-Boyles or Drake Powell.

Drake Powell should be a good addition, I was just thinking along the lines of filling the point guard need with Kasparas if even available at 16. He might not be starting material yet but should eventually.
Kings obviously want to improve the PG position, i've seen plenty mention of Dru Holiday but also have read there’s interest in Marcus Smart. Smart is a few years younger, I just never thought him near the facilitator.

Windy mentioned the Raptors and Kings as teams expected to make moves. Not exactly news, but might be notable given he never talks about the Kings. Point guard being the target. Im hoping we don’t package Devin out, at least not until we get a better look at him

I would package Carter out for Lamelo

Shipping Devin out would certainly be cause for concern when related to the supposed mantra defensively. Send out what will likely end up becoming this teams best defender? Not wise, lol. I didn't see it but what was the context? We already know the logical talking point would probably be moving DeMar. It's already out there. The Kings don't have any package they could compete with other teams if a true star is out there. At least not without yes, destroying their future and potentially becoming the next Suns.

Yeah, but it would take a heck of a lot more than just that. It would be total Kangz though, a few years ago they could have put Fox, LaVine, and Domas together for almost little to no cost. Then to turn around and create about the same level of roster but having to destroy the future to do it when the West is 10X as tough as back then lol. Good times are here again! haha.

He just said that executives are telling him it will likely be a crazy summer. Basically 14 of the 15 teams in the West likely have their eyes on the playoffs. He then went on to mention the Raptors as a surprise team to keep an eye on (after they gave them crap for losing Fred, OG and Pascal, all guys playing on 50 win teams) and then the Kings on the hunt for a point guard.

And if Toronto is eyeing giannis, we might be able to jump into that deal and get barrett for cheaper, for helping them getting Giannis.

Why wouldn’t they keep Barrett they’d be in win now mode and getting Giannis would require Dick and Barnes.
Because Ingram and Barrett next to Giannis would be redundant. They dont need to pay that much for twice the same player. Makes more sense to fill that capspace with 3 point sharpshooters next to giannis and Ingram.

Sabonis is a top 20ish player in the league that’s signed thru the next 3 years. Why would a team not give up an unprotected pick for him if they feel like adding him would make them contenders?
Joshy's entire tenure here has been spent repetitively trying to undermine Sabonis in the face of reality. It's strange, to say the least.

Because he's bad at basketball analysis, that's why.

I could be bad basketball analysis doesnt change that nobody is entertaining giving up an unprotected pick for Sabonis clown talk to think otherwise. Sabonis is a good player but y’all talk yourselves into thinking he’s better than he is just like Derozan was gonna be a fit while we got laughed at the second we signed him by every other fan base.

And what’s the realty of Sabonis? He’s a part time all star who made it as a feel good story who shrinks in play-ins and playoffs that’s the real reality

Firsts are more valuable now in the new CBA you don’t trade it for a non defensive playoff dropper

Zero chance anyone is trading an unprotected pick for Sabonis I would do it for two firsts one being number 7 this year

If you did that Sabonis to NOP trade, you would then turn around and reroute McCollum somewhere. No real need for him here if we are trading Domas (we aren't trying to win now in that scenario), and you find someone who is willing to give something up to bring in a scorer for one year. Dallas without Kyrie? Miami?

Oh ok, good point, you convinced me. I'll back off now.

Every metric measures Sabonis out as an extremely positive impact player. Maybe this hasn’t resulted team success for the Kings, but something tells me he’d look different starting next to Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram at the forwards.

Yeah, but stats aren't real, apparently and we're only going to judge his entire existence off like 10 playoff games. seems like well-reasoned analysis to me.

My argument isn’t that Sabonis is a bad player he’s a good player a good third option to have some here treat him like he’s some all nba player when he’s not. Anyone’s opinion outside of Sacramento agrees with this but yes he’s a king so let’s act like he’s a superstar while get the 11th seed for the next half decade

You realize he’s made an all NBA team before right?
