Post your thoughts: MIN/SAC 7/1

Good win for the Monarchs tonight. Much better ball movement--only 13 turnovers--and better lane movement. They had some really nice plays under the basket, and passes seemed much crisper than they have been.

Bekka and Nikki P had monster games tonight. Bekka especially seemed to have more lift in her jumps, and had a great game underneath. Coach T said on the post-game interview with Koz & Krista Friday after the Chicago loss, that Bekka has been dealing with an injured leg. He did not say what, but her game was the best it has been since she made player of the week. Looks like maybe that leg is healing up.

Our girls are playing pretty banged-up. Ticha and Augustus had a collision in the middle of the key that took Augustus to the floor, and then out of the game for a spell. Unfortunately, it also appeared that Ticha suffered some kind of injury in that same collision to her already sore left arm. She was visibly wincing whenever she tried to dribble with her left hand. She sat out the better part of the fourth quarter, if not all of it. Yo had icepacks on both knees and quads for the same period of time. Thankfully, the rest of the gang stepped up and played well together.

The win sends Jenny-Boo and the coaching staff to the All-Star game to coach the Western Conference. Coach was very humble when this honor was announced at the end of the game, saying something to the effect that this team does not even need her to coach them, that she is going to the All-Star game because of the Monarchs, not because of anything she did. She took her jacket off and threw (2) t-shirts into the stands. Girl has an arm on her!

Nice to have this win after such a long, grueling week. Rest up girls, and come back with a vengeance!!!

Congrats to Coach B. & the coaching staff for making the West All-Star game.
One thing for sure, is it will be a much prettier sideline to watch. one with style & fashion;) Those tee shirt throws were almost to the top of the stairs! Very impressive.
Must of played some softball back in the day.

As for the game, I liked the energy & the agressivness from the team.
Especially Powelle & Brunson...they were very active. I luv it when Powelle takes her game to the paint, we know she can hit the three....but with her size, she poses mismatches for teams.
We also had alot of steals tonight...Overall an important win, to stay #1 & it sends our coaches to represent the West...

Lets get healthy Monarchs...next up Minn. again, July 6th...
HAPPY 4TH Everyone....

Much better energy last night!!!

Nicole Pwell played with a purpose, and that purpose was evident from the jump. Good to see. Brunson was the star last night. Outside of Augustus, R.B. was the best player on the floor.

I feel terrible for Chelsea Newton:( . She is getting beat up. If anybody needs this time off this week, it is Newton. She had a horrible fall that I know she is feeling today.

thanks for all sharing how the game went. one can only get so much from those play by plays. thanks.
