Post game thoughts 12/10

The that’s a relief edition.

So this is what happens when a varsity team plays the JV team.

It is nice to be on the other end of one of these games.

Corliss really, really, really, really, really likes to shoot the ball.

Nice to see some semblance of a starting five tonight.

That Salim Stoudemire guy, yeah, he can shoot.

I don’t want to put too much on tonight’s performance, but if Garcia continues to play like this, consistently, there is going to be a logjam at the 2-3.

Another Vitaly sighting. I cringed. I guess Corliss did too. Anybody still think he should play more?

It is tough to be down on the offense tonight, but I think it is pretty clear when things are working (especially against an inferior team) it is great, but when it is just a little disrupted, it is awful. And you could kinda see both tonight.

No starters in the game during the last few minutes, which was a relief.

I don't know why you're down on Corliss. I think he did a good job mixing it up, taking open shots when they were there and going inside when they weren't.

I just think he shoots way too much. Maybe he breaks out in hives if he passes. Can't fault him if that is the reason.

I didn't see a varsity team out there tonight

well he hit like 9-12 of his shots... and like VF21 said, he can play both out and in.... dont really care if corliss is shooting to much, cuz he's getting them in....

now im just scared about the next game :(

Hrm...

I didn't see him taking too many errant shots. In fact, according to the ESPN box score, he was 9 of 12 tonight, and two of those misses were drives inside that just didn't finish for him. I'm not gonna fault anyone who gets 18 points off 12 shots.

I understand where you (and others) are coming from; I think this game is probably not a great litmus. As you may have noticed, I've brought the 'he shoots too much' opinion several times. And it not just that he shoots too much, he seems to shoot everytime he touches the ball. Just me, I guess.

I think it must be just you...

Lol. Corliss just had that article in the Bee where he was talking about the team moving the ball around more. But I guess you feed the hot hand right?...What a hypocrite.

Oh enough Corliss crunching -- he hit 9 of 12, and they were good shots. He's a good scorer, even to this day in the NBA. High percentage. He's the guy you WANT shooting, or at least the guy you put in the game to shoot. No other reason to ever put him on the floor. He's awkward and limited, but when he's shotoing 9-12, most of it inside, he's doing his job. And well.

Fun game to watch.

Huh...

I was distracted very early on in this one, and the bits I actually paid attention to (most of the fourth) have me wondering if I should just go ahead and clear it out of the DVR without taking the time to watch it.

If you're a Keystone Kops fan, you might enjoy the Hawks' performance...but even it gets old after a while.

You might enjoy Vitaly taking a hard charge and almost knocking the other guy out...until you realize it was Corliss he blocked.

If that doesn't sound intriguing, you can probably clear your DVR without a second thought.

Well, if the Vitaly highlight reel (which I was fortunate enough to catch live) was the only thing worth watching, I think I've just made my decision.

I'm not arguing that fact. I talking about what he said in the newspaper about the team sharing the ball more and then he hogs it. Which in my opinion is hypocritical. Does that mean I don't want him shooting? No. I just don't like him telling everyone not to do what he does. Not exactly setting an example.

And what happens when the rolls don't go his way? Will he recognize it? Or will he keep hucking 'em up?

I happen to be in favor of the idea of feeding the hot hand. If anything he made his trade value as an expiring even more marketable. But unfortunately we don't play the Hawks every night. So I'd rather not see him try to do it all when we play better teams.

I was at this game.

And all I have to say is a 30 point blowout is good to watch no matter when, especially when your team has been struggling.

And the Hawks are just borderline retarded out there without their star...I mean, wow...They were just pathetic.
