Pollard Says He's 'Probably Done'

Scot Pollard doesn't expect to get any calls from NBA teams prior to the upcoming season. "I don't think an (NBA) offer will come. I'm probably done," Pollard told the Lawrence Journal. Pollard, 34, last played in the NBA with the Celtics in 2008. "I will not hold a press conference to say I'm retired," added Pollard. "(But) the fact I didn't hear from more than a couple teams last year ... I don't think it'll happen this year." The veteran forward/center recently accepted an invitation to play in a pair of exhibitions against his former teammate Vlade Divac's Club Partizan team.

He was never the best on the court at any given time but the thing that I loved about him is that you could never doubt his heart and hustle every minute he was on the floor. I know alot of people are hoping Brockman can fill the role of scrappy hustle guy like Pollard was to our Kings and we can only hope to be so lucky.

Always liked Scot !

Sign him Petrie!
Yeah, I don't get the Mason signing when the team needs a cheap backup C. I can only understand this roster if Westy told GP that he would play JT at C more. But if Westy is just working with what GP is giving him (which was the impression I got from his interview comments), then I don't know why the team wouldn't offer a 1 year min deal to Pollard to backup Hawes.

Scot's back retired quite a while ago. Let the rest of him follow suit...

Best of luck in retirement, Scot! I've heard rumors about the Pollards returning to the Sacramento area. If they do, I'm sure we'll see him occasionally at Arco.

:D

I'd be happy to see him around. I think Scot was a little stunned at the warm ovation he got at Webber's jersey retirement nights. Kings fans appreciated what Pollard brought to "that" team. :)

Gotta love the guy. I remember he said this a while ago about wearing his Celtics ring to honor the Kings: "I should have 2 rings. I wear the one I have in honor of the Kings, since I didn't contribute much to the C's because of injury."

Also, the picture above is priceless.

I hope they let him do some work on TV or the radio. The guy is hilarious.

Agreed! I hope the NBA's loss is Sacramento's gain. I would love to see Scott as part of the Kings media. How about Scott and Katey doing the pre-game and post-game shows. Now that would be fun.
