Just a reminder: PLEASE be fire safe. The forest is tinder dry and the fires in the north state are just the beginning of what could be a very tough fire season. The worst possible combination is very dry conditions and strong winds, and the forecast for parts of the forests up here is for both.

It's an unbelievably beautiful night here in the forest. The only sounds I can hear - besides my own TV - are crickets. The sky is crystal clear and there are more stars than you could ever believe, unless of course you're used to being able to look at the stars without the reflected light from the city.
