Playoff Roster (merged)

Sorry if there is already a thread about this but . . .

I just checked the Kings.com roster and it appears that Daniels and Martin were the 2 to not make the playoff roster. That it what I expected and thought we needed to happen.

Thanks and great job to Martin this season! We didn't see much of Daniels, but I am sure he worked hard at practices, so thanks to him as well.

GO KINGS!

So what does this mean for Martin? Will he be a King next year?

Who knows. He's under contract of course. But this offseason literally ANYTHING could happen, so trying to figure out whether Martin is here or gets thrown into a deal or something is close to impossible. My guess is yes, he'll be back as a young cheap bencher who we likes and who knows the system. But its just a guess.

Who we likes...NICE! WE LIKES. WE LOVES!!

It was expected. I will like to thank their efforts also. But I'm sure they both expected themselves and want what's best for the Kings.

Go Kings!

Kevin, I am truly sorry that you did not make the roster. However, I know that you are handling it professionally. Keep working on your game...I know you will. Do what you can to try to bulk up...I know you will. See you next year...I know we will.

As expected, Kevin Martin and Erik Daniels are not on the playoff roster.

My only real problem with the whole "playoff roster" scenario is that those two have been members of the team all year. As with a lot of other people on other teams, they've sat on the bench night in and night out, ready to step up if their team needed them. Or, they've been placed on the injury list with some kind of phantom problem to make space for another player. I firmly believe ALL team members should be allowed to be on the bench for their teams during the playoffs, to be part of the excitement if nothing else.

That's my rant on this subject...

;)

Surely they can still travel with the team and sit behind the bench right?

Not likely.

They are NOT on the roster, so technically they are not part of the team and would not be able to be on the bench or in the immediate area unless they had actually paid for the tickets.

Traditionally, players not on the playoff roster go on vacation, go home, etc. They do not travel with the team.

that sucks. all that work during the season and they have to buy their own ticket?

Under contract with the Kings until 06/07 and Kings can make a qualifying offer 04/08-08/09. But Brick is right. It doesn't mean he won't be traded.

The players left off of the playoff roster travel with and sit with/near the team.

Thanks for the info, hoodie. That is great! I feel better about the whole situation. :)

Wether they are on the roster or not, I'm sure both Martin and Daniels want to do their part by warming up the bench and be the team cheering section!

Well, they can, and in this case, it is sure nice to have players who actually WANT to. Unlike some players in years past. coughMassenburgcough

Whoooooooooo!

I am so glad about that. I had forgotten what it was like to actually have more healthy players than we had room for on the roster. :o

Sorry for my earlier rant. I should have had more faith in the Kings. They wouldn't keep one of their own from going to root them on, unless - of course - his name happened to be Massenberg.

;)
