Ime Udoka
Born: April 9, 1977
Number: 3
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 215
Position: SF/SG
Yrs w/Kings: 2009-10 (1 year)
How Acquired: Free Agent Nov. 2009
How Departed: Free Agent 2010

A very limited defensive minded roleplayer who had taken the long road to reach the NBA, Udoka was not a great athlete, not much of a scorer, seemed to have lost his touch from 3pt land, but he did still have that professional "knows how to play" factor that kept him in the low rotation all season long for the Kings in (another) rebuilding season in 2009-10.

College and Pre Kings Career
Udoka had a ragged college career, playing for one year at the University of San Francisco before transferring, sitting out, and playing his senior season at Portland State, where he averaged 14.5pts 7.3reb and went undrafted in the 2000 draft. For the next 6 years he bounced around the NBDL and various European leagues trying to make it into the NBA, and after two brief 4 game stints for the Knicks and the Lakers, he finally found a home in Portland in 2006-07 (with the well known backdrop that his father died while he was still fighting to make the team in training camp). The Spurs signed him as a free agent the next season, and 2 years later he joined the Kings.

Post Kings Career
Udoka briefly returned to the Spurs for the 2010-11 season, but was waived midseason. The Nets signed him for a week the following year, but he never played a game and after returning to Spain for one more European season, he called it a career.

Post NBA Career
Udoka is currently part of Gregg Popovich's staff in San Antonio as an assistant coach.

Beno Udrih
Born: July 5, 1982
Number: 19
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 205
Position: PG/SG
Yrs w/Kings: 2007-11 (4 years)
How Acquired: Free Agent Nov. 2007
How Departed: Traded June 2011 with first round pick (became Bismack Biyombo) for John Salmons and first round pick (became Jimmer Fredette)

Slovenian combo PG with good size and skills, but relatively slow feet and defensive issues. Had spent three years backing up Tony Parker in San Antonio before he was waived after a trade, giving a chance for the Kings to pick him up free to replace an aging Mike Bibby. In his first couple of seasons as an aging lineup was slowly deconstructed around him he proved an adequate fill in starter, a good shooter, albeit with easy range that stopped just short of the 3pt line, and a clever ballhandler, although not a great instinctual floor general. He seemed to come into his own however with the arrival of Tyreke Evans as the two combo guards shared the ballhandling and creating duties, and Beno responded with the two most efficient years of his career. Was traded after the 2011 season as the wild enthusiasm of Jimmermania got the better of the Maloofs.

Pre Kings Career
After a European career that included stops in Slovenia, Israel, Russia and Italy, Udrih was taken by the Spurs with the 28th pick of the first round in the 2004 Draft. He was part of 2 title teams in his first 3 years as Tony Parker's backup at PG.

Post Kings Career
After leaving the Kings Udrih reverted to a journeyman existence, bouncing from Milwaulkee, to Orlando, to New York, to Memphis over the next 3 seasons, mostly as a reserve.

Randy Wittman
Born: October 28, 1959
Number: 10
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 210
Position: SG
Yrs w/Kings: 1988-89 (1 year)
How Acquired: trade Jun. 1988 (ATL/SAC) with 1st round pick (became Ricky Berry) for Reggie Theus and a 3rd rnd pick
How Departed: trade Feb. 1989 (SAC/IND) with LaSalle Thompson for Wayman Tisdale and a 2nd round pick (Bimbo Coles)

An athletically limited midrange jumpshooter with few other skills (he could pass a little), Wittman arrived with the Kings as part of the deal which sent Reggie Theus to Atlanta. He was a veteran mediocrity, but had been good enough to start and play a limited jumpshooting role for playoff teams in Atlanta. However his lack of athleticism, three point range, and rebounding saw him seldom used on a Kings team which needed a more dynamic force, and he was traded midseason as a throw in in the trade which brought Wayman Tisdale to Sacramento.

College and Pre Kings Career
Wittman came out of Indiana University, where he received an injury exemption after breaking his foot as a sophomore (getting injured one game before college teammate and fellow future King Mike Woodson would injure his back) and was able to play as a 5th year senior, averaging 19.0pts/gm in 1982-83. He was taken by the Washington Bullets in the first round (#22 overall) of the 1983 Draft, but was traded a few days later to the Hawks, where he remained for 5 years as a roleplaying starter before his trade to the Kings.

Post Kings Career
After the trade to the Pacers, Wittman would play 3 more years with Indiana to close out his NBA career. His minutes and role gradually decreased each season, and he was finally waived in training camp of 1992.

Post NBA Career
After retiring Wittman went into coaching, and worked his way up through various NBA stops as an assistant. He has held head coaching jobs in Cleveland, Minnesota, and is currently the head coach of the Washington Wizards. Overall his NBA coaching record is 191-329 over parts of 8 seasons. In 2013-14 he finally posted his first winning record and made his first playoffs as a coach with a 44-38 record and second round playoff appearance by the Wizards.

Trevor Wilson
Born: March 16, 1968
Number: 2
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 210
Position: SF/PF
Yrs w/Kings: 1993-95 (2 years)
How Acquired: Free Agent Dec. 1993
How Departed: waived Jan. 1995

Athletic, handsome, and just not clearly an NBA level basketball player, Wilson could jump out of the gym but didn't have a clear NBA position, lacked the bulk of a PF or the skills of a SF, and was able to guard neither. He was signed as a free agent in midseason 1993-94, and waived in midseason 1994-95.

College and Pre Kings Career
Wilson was a UCLA product, staying all four years, the last three as a consistent 15-18pt 9reb starter. He was taken in the 2nd round (#36 overall) of the 1990 Draft by the Hawks, and began a journeyman career bouncing in and out of the NBA and Europe before he landed on the Kings three years later.

Post Kings Career
After being waived by the Kings, Wilson would get one more NBA look, a couple of weeks stint with the Sixers in 1995, and then spend the remainder of his career in the CBA, Europe, and Japan.

Post NBA Career
After tiring of his basketball nomad ways and finally retiring from basketball in 1999, Wilson went on to become a police office with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Mike Woodson
Born: March 24, 1958
Number: 42
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 195
Position: SG
Yrs w/Kings: 1985-86 (1 year)
How Acquired: arrived with the team in 1985 (originally trade from Nets Nov. 1981)
How Departed: trade Aug. 1986 (SAC/LAC) with Larry Drew a 1st rnd pick (turned into Hersey Hawkins) and a 2nd rnd pick (turned into Jay Edwards) for Junior Bridgeman, franklin Edwards, and Derek Smith

A good jumpshooter, although not 3pt shooter as was sometimes seen in the early days of the three point shot in the NBA, Woodson was one of 4 starting caliber guards (Theus, Johnson, Drew the others) who arrived with the first Kings team in Sacramento. While not above average in any other aspect of the game, Woodson was an effective and efficient scorer, and averaged 15.6pts/gm and started 51 of 81 games that first season. After the season he was traded away in one of the early truly disastrous trades for the franchise, being sent along with Drew and two draft picks who became future longtime NBAers Hersey Hawkins and Jay Edwards, for former star guard Derek Smith and his ruined knee.

College and Pre Kings Career
Had 4 very strong years as a starter at Indiana, although his senior year was interrupted by midseason back surgery (his injury happening 1 game after another former King Randy Wittman broke his foot for that same IU team) which made his numbers suffer somewhat in comparison to previous seasons. He was taken 12th overall by the Knicks in the 1980 Draft, then after playing sparingly as a rookie, he was traded twice in six months to land on the Kansas City roster, and was still there when the franchise arrived in Sacramento.

Post Kings Career
Woodson continued on as a solid starter/high level reserve for three more years with the Clippers and Houston, then rapidly tailed off in his last two seasons in the league, finally retiring at the end of the 1990-91 season.

Post NBA Career
After retiring Woodson returned to the NBA as an assistant coach, initially with Milwaulkee, but then with the Cavaliers, 76ers and Pistons before getting a chance at the head coaching job in Atlanta. In 9 seasons coaching the Hawks and Knicks he has accumulated a 315-365 record, and made the playoffs 5 times in 9 years. Most recently he was fired by new Knicks GM Phil Jackson after the end of a disappointing 2013-14 season in which the team went 37-45.

Derrick Williams
Born: May 25, 1991
Number: 13
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 240
Position: SF/PF
Yrs w/Kings: 2013-14 (1 year)
How Acquired: trade (MIN/SAC) Nov. 2013 for Luc Mbah A Moute
How Departed: N/A

Athletic tweener forward caught between positions and inconsistent at either. Williams is capable of explosive games and spectacular plays, but struggles to sustain his assertiveness, especially if he's not featured. In classic fashion his ballhandling and shooting appear suspect at SF, while his rebounding and physicality just is not there at PF, and he struggles at both positions defensively.

Pre Kings Career
After a decorated two year career at Arizona, Williams entered the 2011 Draft was taken #2 overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves amidst high hopes. Problems soon arose as it was apparent Williams was having trouble finding a fit at SF next to Kevin Love. Then in his second year after Love went down with an injury, Williams filled in at PF to better result, but still struggled with efficiency. He was traded to the Kings early the next season.
