Sam Amick:
Monty did not want Doug as coach. Did not want to keep him as coach.
Vivek was the driving force behind derozan and lavine.
After the game lavine told amick that sac might be the best place for him because Vivek always wanted him.

I really hope Zack gets better going forward because as flawed as he is, he isn’t as bad as he was for like 70% of his run with us.

Lmao. And certain posters here had the gall to call out Monte.

Oh god.
Levine is gonna be looking for a contract extension here.
Might as well make that immovable contract even more immovable cause Vivek loves his guy.
Rich Paul was sitting in fox’s wife’s old seat. He was here to smack the kings down even more.

Monte isn’t free from criticism. Run it Back season was a fireable offense in of itself.

The more I hear, the less critical I’m gonna be toward monte. The majority of it rests with Vivek.
According to Sam it is much more likely that Monte had already set up his way out of here. This was likely a “mutual parting”.

I guess my biggest question is why Vivek thinks he’s qualified to run a basketball team? He has no experience, training or background in basketball or sports period. And if this doesn’t change why would any qualified GM or coach want to come here?

No, of course not.

But there's a difference in him failing some of his moves and him being literally the only adult we've had in charge of this team since Geoff Petrie. Whoever the clown Vivek hires next almost certainly will be worse and more than likely just a puppet for whatever Vivek wants.

Man Carmichael Dave is on fire today, spitting straight facts.
If Vivek doesn’t have a come to Jesus moment and change his ways there is no hope of any change at all. It will just be another rinse, repeat, and lose, unless they somehow back into success which is exactly what they did 3 years ago.

“What’s it gonna take for some in our fanbase to realize what the problem is here”.

Exactly Dave. I think some people only see what they want to see.

Look how well this turned out with Buddy Hield?

We also called out Fox for getting Mike Brown fired at the time. There's a lot going on within the organization that we don't know about and won't ever know about. So the lesson there is that we (and I'm including myself in this) should probably stop pointing fingers at people based on incomplete information.

What do you suggest we do?

Can't fire the owner.

Do what you want. I choose to not spend money on the kings. I might fall asleep watching a game and continue to comment here cause I like the back and forth but that’s about it for me. I just scratch my head when I see some who still choose to see Vivek in a different light. Peaks my interest. I want to understand why that view?

I don't think I need to tell you why a 26 win team is better than a 40 win team. And if trading Sabonis, LaVine, Monk, and DeRozan combined can't net us even 1 top 8 pick in a supposedly bad draft year that's a pretty definitive statement about how low the ceiling is with this roster.

Yeah I was hoping the Kings would just drop out of the play in this year but the Suns refused to let that happen.

I could be talking out of my you know what but I think the warts on most of those players are too much. Each player other than maybe Monk has so many warts, whether it be their difficulty to build around, age or contract size. I feel like the Kings trade options will be pretty limited. I'm good with blowing it all up but unfortunately I don't think we're going to get a cache of solid picks out of it. I think they're going to have to go back to the old win 26 games and hope you pick the right players in the lottery approach. Something our fan base has a PhD in at this point.

It sucks because I feel like if you go back to last year and trade Fox and Sabonis, the Kings could have had a suitcase full of picks. Instead they waited too long and their stocks dropped for different reasons.

Which is usually how it goes. Their value was high as long as they looked like guys who were young enough and good enough to build a team around. So our front office chose to keep them and build a team around them instead. Both of them played the best ball of their careers under Mike Brown, for what it's worth. Just pretend that didn't come from me since the word is already out about my love-fest with our most recent ex-Coach.

I said at the time (and elsewhere in the last 24) that everyone needed to go and someone better not be here tomorrow. I guess I got my wish, but I'm not thrilled.
