Pistons @ kings Game Thread

Kings only put up a fight in the second quarter. Other three quarters have made it painfully clear why the Pistons are part of the elite NBA teams this year, a group which currently does not contain the Kings.

ESPN absolutely bashed the team on NBA Nation when they did a "live" (delayed) look in the last minute of the third (even said get rid of Petrie/Adelman soon).

A couple true/understandable points, but the rest was over-exaggerated and ignorant. Even the host, John Saunders got in on it, more than a little.

Not really surprised they did though.

I actually think that Bibby has not had a bad night. Right now, he has 13 pts, 6 rebs, and 9 assits. Granted, I am not watching the game, just listening (painfully) but I just had to comment on that. Overall, it was very a disappointing game, but I do try to find some positive.
Bibby played good tonight, Shot looked nice, defence looked a little better then recent games.

We need to work on transition running, not even the defensive part of it, just plain getting back on D, before we even worry about trying to stop people. This team runs the floor great on offence, but I don't understand why they hesitate on D so much.

we have bigger problems than listening to BSPN

I still think that SAR, Wells, and Bibby had decent nights - not just in points. Problem is, nobody else had any REAL contributions. I just can't seem to put my finger on what needs to be done. I have a feeling that something big has to happen. BTW, I am NOT even suggesting trades this early in the season. I just believe that someting has to happen. There just appears to be something "not quite right." I do have faith that things are going to turn around soon. I try to keep reminding myself that we were 1-4 to start last season. It is little consolation, but at least it is something.

ESPN is and always has been anti-Kings. At this point, what they have to say about the Kings is one of the things I least worry about.

my advice - go to bed and save Your energy for tomorow night

(just imagined - altitude, Bill Walton, Golden uniforms and BSPN comments around the game)

Have a peacefull night !

I just happened to have ESPN2 on.

Yeah, I know, but I never heard them call out Petrie before or say we're old, tired, flat, and bad at what's going on. This was the worst I've ever heard them say about is, and then the host getting in on it was quite surprising.

I knew they'd say some bad things, but not x10. ;)

VF, and anyone else who watched the game, what did they look like playing together? I know it sounds like a dumb question since we lost so badly. I guess I mean, did they look like they lost as a TEAM or as a bunch of individuals on the court? Maybe we should do like minny did this summer and take a "BONDING" trip or something. I am just trying to get a better feel for what is happening

damn our bench sucks.... i mean superhead level sucking....

we all knew that peja would be a non factor.... a couple of years ago, or even this time last season; this would have been the game where peja was on the bench and christie would be our 3 with bobby at the 2..... if we had house that would have happened but with bonzi...

2-6 3pt shooting... horrible....

THEY LOOKED JUST LIKE THE KING FROM LAST YEAR. As soon as they get down, they all get upset and pout.

I think it's time to find the REAL problem and correct it.

Peja's never a factor when it matters we should be used to that.

Well one things for sure Adelman didn't make very many smart moves, Corliss played great when he came in, then Adelman decides to switch it up and put in 3-11 Peja.

If I could answer that with any degree of confidence, I could probably get a job with the coaching staff.

To me, it seemed like they just unraveled... first, Tayshaun Prince made Peja look like a 3rd string rookie. Then, the Wallace boys pretty much took Miller out of the game. After that, things just seemed to go south.

I don't even have a place to start on what to fix. (Well, I do, but I'm going to keep it to myself...)

That was ugly, and it left me with an upset stomach and jangled nerves. Are they that bad? No, but they're playing that badly. If we don't find some defense somewhere, I fear a lot more games could look like that. In addition, we tend to fold like cheap suits in the face of anything even remotely resembling defense by the opposing team. At this point, I'm ready to change the team mascot to:

In Adelman's behalf, I think he was really hoping Peja could find his shot and, just like with Phoenix, get hot and spark the team. I, too, would have kept Corliss in...but hindsight is always 20-20.

It's not Adelman's fault that our starters, once again, seemed to totally unravel in the face of defensive pressure.

This sucked...but, as trite as it sounds, it was only the 4th game.

:(

hahaha -- VF that's pretty damn funny. things must be dire if there is a VF post that isn't positive...

(ps i meant the pic of stay puff marshmellow man, not the RA defense)

Which you believe to be? Just asking because I cannot figure it out.
I can't figure it out either, but if you do the process of elimination..... it leaves Adleman and Petrie and then the Maloof's. Since the Maloofs own the team then take your pick of the other two?

What really gets me is we have changed the whole team, yet we continue to look the same. That clearly points to the style of coaching I assume?

I'm just frustrated and I want to see the kings of old, or just players that will really try to win and not pout.
