Pistons @ Kings Game Thread 11/14/2010

back to back losses to Minnesota and Detroit AT HOME! Yikes! Not looking to good, i want to see what the kool aid drinkers have to say after this one.

Pistons won't shoot this well for the next 2 months.

So we arnt scheduled to play them again for 2 whole months?

The Kings. Defence of the Warriors, offense of the Bobcats. I wasnt expecting playoffs this season, but its starting to look like 30 wins is overly optimistic baring a trade to get us a legit 3.

Another game, another loss. Nothing surprising here, BG hits a dagger three and before that Prince makes a tough contested shot. On to the Knicks.

We'de say go back to the Lakers forum and stop pretanding you're a Kings fan when you actually have nothing good to say about the team and keep hoping it fails.

I'm begining to think someone to put next to Tyreke, pg or sg, is a greater concern. Beno is killing us on defense.

Kings win 17 games this year, worst team in league, Kings move next year underachieve again, just in time for the world to end in 2012

I think it's fairly obvious now that Beno, Landry and Casspi should never be on the floor together because our defense just becomes too bad. Donte really needs to lose a lot of weight so he can play again.

Our roster is so ****ed up. I can't think of any definitive lineup. You could have:

Evans / Beno
Garcia / Head
Casspi / Greene
Cousins / Landry
Dalembert / JT

and close out games with

Evans
Beno
Garcia
Cousins
Dalembert

Or you could have something completely different.

Today, Westphals best lineup was easily:

Evans
Head
Garcia
Cousins
JT

Hahaha Beno`s defense is killing us!!!! You must be kidding if you really think that his defense is the main Kings problem. I don`t even think he was defending that bad as he contested most of Rip`s shots at the begining and Gordon hit one from the corner over his hands in the 2nd half! check the game againif you don` believe me...whatever! Free throws, defending pick n roll (and this is not only PG issue), transition defense and stupid decisons in the offense are biggest problem right now.

Hmmm Beno is the only Kings player with + an the +/- stats, so probably his presence on the court isn`t so bad at all. And looking back on PHX game-I think Nash would put similar numbers to any other player that day. He became father to a son that day and he was so inspired and playing great basketball! But again: defending pick n roll can not and it is not only PG issue!

Oh yeah, Beno did that. You remember that because that was the only thing Beno did good for defense during the game. Those unsusual things that a player does sticks well to your memory.

Let's face it. Beno is our biggest liability in defense. The Bigs will constantly have problems in giving honest defense to their man whenever Beno plays. It wasn't like Beno is playing like the old Bibby of the glorious years. Beno is playing like the recent slow non-defending Bibby!

BTW, Nash became father to a son that day. A day later he announced he and his wife are divorcing. Great life. Indeed, he had all the reasons to be inspired.:p

A players defensive deficiencies can always be masked by good team defense. See Marco Bellinelli on the Hornets this year. Our problem is that we have three out of five guys out there at the same time who can't defend. (Landry, Casspi and Beno) Those minutes have to be managed better.

What else you can do on a player like Rip than extend your arms towards his and contest his shots? OK, maybe overplaying him and not allowing him to get the ball at all and that`s it! Once again-Defending pick n roll is main problem here, because there is no plan how to defend and no matter who is PG: Nash or Telfair, the Kings do it the same: without switching, or without double team-ing, or without help and recover...just let see if Beno can run thru the screen and stay in front of his PG again.

Next time the Kings play I suggest you focus on our guards defense, particularly paying close attention to Beno.

Beno is not just a big liability on defending those pick n roll plays. Beno gets left behind with even with the slowest executed cross-over dribble by his man. What is worse, he will go chase his man half-heartedly, then go to his team mate and act as if it was his team mate who was the one who messed-up. It's like Beno farting in a crowded bus, then covering his nose and looking beside the one who's siting next to him. And voila, the one sitting beside him is the one who farted.
