Phoenix game Post-Game discussion

when did i say that he who shall remain nameless would be a better player? this is what im talking about, why is everyone jumping to that conclusion? i was just talking about the fact that he wasnt picked. you are the one saying that i implied that he would be better than evans....

he just happened to be the player that i wanted petrie to pick. just like i wanted him to pick sergio, it didnt happen and here we are today having the same argument 3 years later.

Look, we don't always get the player we want picked. I've been lucky the last three years. Petrie has picked every player I wanted. So I guess vicariously, you can blame me as much as Petrie.

Do you remember who it was that everyone wanted to be picked the year Petrie picked Peja? John Wallace! Yep! He was the unanimous choice around town. I remember Petrie walking out onto that stage and getting booed when he made the announcement. Peja turned out to be a pretty good pick. Especialy when compared to the career of John Wallace.

True, we could have had Jermaine O'Neal, but it took him about 5 years to figure out that he was actually in the NBA. I liked Steve Nash in that draft, but he was such an erratic player he scared me. Plus the guy just couldn't shoot. Shows how much I know.. By the way, O'Neal is a prime example of how long it can take some big men to develop. In his case, he took so long that Portland gave up on him and traded him.

Now as far as people jumping to conclusions. I think your history precedes you. Obviously you wanted Rubio. You've said so on many occasions. As has Gary and some others. You were disappointed, and I understand that. But the fact that you were disappointed means that you thought Rubio would be a better pick than Evans. So its not a hard conclusion to come to when you try and tip toe around it now. I don't actually know why it should upset you, if thats what you really believe.

So I think the issue for you, is whether you can actually be objective about Evans? Or will you always look at him through the prism of Rubio stained glass?:)

just like the wallace situation i wanted arenas, even arenas thought that he would be a king. i got over it and enjoyed the time we had with gerald, he was one of my favorite players. still is now that i think about it.

i wanted rubio, i didnt get rubio... im over it. i now have pg that i wanted on the team in sergio to ease the pain.

i see evans as evans, not rubio's replacement... he will most likely be a good player who will be fun to watch. even if he doesnt dunk.

I will stop posting on this board FOREVER if you can drum up a quote from ANYBODY that says "how great it is to allow a team to score 143 points in a regulation preseason game". FOREVER.

::grabbing popcorn::

methinks two members on our board may have crushes on each other. :p

i kid!

Fair enough..and at least he stopped Stoudemire from dunking...:D

Haha....And Fnordius kills it!

Seriously though, why all the fussin and fightin? If someone wants to be negative about the Kings let them, it's their opinion. We stink. But we have some promising rookies. One could be optimistic or pessimistic given our situation. Just depends on the fan.

Personally, I dont know if Evans is going to be a PG for us. But its looking more and more like he's going to be a stud for us whether he plays the 1, 2, or 3.

And going out on a limb, I'm pretty sure AriesMar27 will happily eat crow if Evans DOES turn out to be legit at the point. I know I will.

I think we're going to be legit (or at least a talked about up and comer like Portland was a few seasons ago) in the 2010/11 season. So if anyone wants to moan, they might as well do it while they still have the chance.

if he turns out to be the pg that everyone is making him out to be i will have no problem admitting it.

This is one of the most annoying topics I've read through. The basketball related discussion was completely destroyed.

That is all.

If it's that annoying, move on to the next thread. If people would stop responding on some of these things, they'd die a lot sooner...

Don't get me wrong. I also think it's a waste of time to continue to beat the bones of the horse that died a long time ago but I don't sit around yelling at those still holding the whips in their hands. It's easier on my sanity just to walk away.

:)

I suggest you then post something of revelance to steer us back on the right path. Naw! This is too much fun...:D
