I'm setting the over/under on Peja's rebounding total for tonights game at 5.

I'm optimistic and believe he is going OVER(5) and will explode for seven rebounds tonight!!!

Any takers?

Under. Total of 4, which is still DOUBLE his last performance.

Well, Peja already has one rebound in the first quarter...I probably shouldn't have taken the under.

usually downhill from there ;)

Do my eyes deceive me, or does Peja still only have 2 rebounds with less than 3 minutes left in the 4th?

BigWaxer made a very good point. Peja may not have grabbed boards but with Thomas and Skinner in there it became a lot less critical. Peja was doing a good job on defense, he was moving off the ball better than he has in a long, long, long time and he was hitting shots AND passing to the open man.

He said he got tired in the second half and that's just conditioning. He's coming back, fellow Kings fans, and I have renewed my faith in him.

GO KINGS!!!

If he scores I am not worried about rebounds. He is here to put up points.

Thats how Ive always felt about Peja...as long as he scores I could careless about the rebounds...his rebound totals only stick out to everyone when he has a stinker of a night...especially now that we have Brian and K9 who are gonna get between 7-12 rebounds each a game

I say he'll get 2.

No offense meant in any way, KP, but I think you're supposed to make your prediction BEFORE the game and not AFTER.

Of course, I could just be picking those annoying nits.

We got beat by 6 on the boards. By the Magic. You can't realistically ask Brian (11) Thomas (11) or Mike (6) to give you anymore than they did. So where do those extra boards come from? Cat and Peja. Same story for the whole season. No Cat and Peja on the glass means we get beat on the boards, sometimes badly. We can shrug it off against the Magic. If it happens against a playoff team its sianora.

And again, I'm pointing out that for the first time in a long time, I saw Peja and not some phoned-in version or cardboard cutout. Sure, he still has a long way to go but up until tonight I honestly didn't know if he had any of the spunk left. I saw spunk tonight - for the first time in a very long time. I'm openly optimistic because quite frankly I'm just tired of being pessimistic. I have every hope Peja will continue to improve and that he's finally on track to get back to where we want and need him to be.

You know what I think the problem with Pedja is that he is half way down the court when the shot is missed by the oppossing team. He always looks to fast break more then defensive rebounding. I do not know it is Rick telling him to run the fast break to kick start his offense or him doing on his own, but it does put pressure on our other guys to rebound the ball.

Forget about it happening against a real playoff team --- getting abused on the boards by the Magic a week or so ago was one of the main culprits for the Kings' loss in that instance, and without checking the stats, I'd wager it had something to do with the loss to the Bobcats on that same road trip. KThomas rebounds very well for his size, but it's not as if the team couldn't use Peja's help.

Still, I'm happy to see Peja back to being a scorer for this team at this point. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the rebounding going forward.
