peja's agent was told that he'll be dealt by the end of the trade deadline...

G-League
heard it from the rise guys 10 min ago... sorry if this is a dup. the rise guys were also doing a poll from the phone. so far:

14 said trade him
3 said no

I did post this in the "could the trade rumors bring Peja back thread" but I think it's good it has it's own thread. The source is Peter V. in New York. Not the best source in the world but I'll try and find it and post a link if I can.

And of course according to stein:

Darko (chicago): is peja gonna get traded..or are kings gonna do something else

Marc Stein: (11:21 AM ET ) Peja will not be treaded. He's Geoff Petrie's pride and joy. Next year, maybe . . . if Petrie realizes that Peja is going to leave in free agency in the summer of 2006. But for now, Kings want to keep Peja and try to smooth things out.

Like I said in the other thread, normally I would take Vescey saying something was going to happen as excellent evidence that it in fact was not, but actually naming the agent as his source makes it more credible.

Actually, if you read the way Viper worded it -- looks like one of his classic "cover my ***" innuendo statements:

In reality, the above names were prominently put out there in more than one conversation and Stojakovic's agent was notified by management his client might be moved before Feb. 24. It still could happen.

I bolded the Viperisms whereby he's covered either way. In other words, we still don't know much.

If this is the reason he won't be traded than that's just flat out wrong. If you can trade him and upgrade the roster you do it......you don't just keep him because you drafted him.

I don't really see anything concrete like there.

Vescey is like the black and white world news of the sports world. He makes junk up to feel important

Right.^ Looks like the Rise guys misreported(big surprise) he said he still "might" be dealt and he was backtracking from the Boozer trade he got completely wrong yesterday. PV sucks... nuff said.

What about getting a Michael Redd type player whos on the trading block. I would trade Mobley and Jackson for him. Lets start more rumours :)....sorry VF :(

Peja

Under the CBA, we can't trade Mobley with another player because we only acquired him recently.

Besides which, Redd solves none of our problems -- rebounding & defense. If we trade somebody that's what we have to get in return if we're going to make a serious run at this thing.

Peja isnt getting traded until the offseason...this is just the second 'venting' before the actual eruption this summer. We've got what we've got, and it aint bad, if we can get healthy.

Peja may be relocating

THE NEWS

According to sources within the Kings organization, a swap involving Kings forward Peja Stojakovic and Lakers guard/forward Lamar Odom has been discussed, the Sacramento Bee reports. There are some concerns that chemistry between Stojakovic and Chris Webber, or more specifically, the team's inability to incorporate Stojakovic into the offense. Nevertheless, Kings management is resistant to moving their veteran small forward and are hopeful any remaining issues can be resolved.

OUR VIEW

Stojakovic has been slowed physically by injuries, and mentally by lack of involvement in the team's game plan. In the preseason, Peja went as far as asking to be traded before calming down and conceding to play out his contract, which ends after the 2005-2006 season. He is not the every week fantasy start that he was last year and at this point, only a major move is likely to change his value in the second half of the season.

Little tidbit I found while checking my fantasy roster.

You really need to check in here more often. That rumor, and virtually everything else there, has been tossed around, discussed, debated, dissected, etc. for the past 4 days around here.

Check the thread listings both in the main forum and the NBA forum.

Actually this report was posted yesterday not four days ago. I'm a big webber fan and if one of em goes I'd rather it be Peja. To the Lakers....No. For Odom, sorry but hell ya. I realize your sick of all the trade talk and I too am waiting for the deadline to pass without incident which is probably what will happen, but it is a little more exiting than talking about the kings playing antoine walker....I mean the hawks. I guess I shouldn't put the Hawks down seeing as though we only beat em by three last time. ewwww.

My only point was that everything you posted has been discussed here for several days. Check the thread listings. :D

Your fantasy site may have just gotten it, but it's been around for days.

True. But remember, this is a franchise. They're out to make a profit on these games, and sale on merchandise. You also have to look at the team's image.

For example: What if we traded for guys like Curry, artest, rasheed, antoine walker. Good players with crap attitudes. Sacramento will not only be called the Queens, but also the Sacramento Illiterates, High School Drop-outs, Potty Mouths etc.

I'm also for the Peja trade to some extent. But again, Petrie has to watch out not to put Peja into the wrong hands.

For example, Pacers would have a complete balanced starting lineup to complement him: pollard's rebounding, jermaine o'neal, bender, tinsley, jones.
Pairing Peja with someone like Kirilenko or Dirk would be suicide. Who else can we trade to that won't make them a contender if Peja's in there and still get equal or better value?

I heard through the grapevine that webber was going to the pacers for artest.

I heard we're also dealing Peja for Lebron and McInnis, Webber for Artest and JO, and Bibby for Wade and Shaq. Yeah, please stop with the stupid rumors.

Rick Barry on KNBR about 1:15p thought Odom was someone very special on the Lakers and an exception player. Pedja is the pure shooter and scorer but Odom more talented. His view from Kings side is take it as Odom has more to offer (but would lakers require BJax for the salaries to better match? Others brought that up)

If Peja plays the way he did last year for the first 60 or whatever games then he's a lot better than Odom. Problem with Peja is he doesn't fit into the Kings with Webber as well as we've seen. Odom might fit better than again he might not. Peja is a better player overall if he's #1 option, problem is on the Lakers he'll still be #2, will he get over that?

#2 is better than #4 but I still hope it never happenes (him in that ugly uniform).
