Peja The Invisible

If only Peja had Larry Bird's competitive edge and attitude, he would be just as good as Larry Bird. The talent is there, but the heart is not.
I watched a nba classic knicks vrs Celts. Bird has lots of tools Peja has yet to develope and may never. He had a fabolous post game and was a tough rebounder. Given Peja athletic abilities, there is no reason why he couldn't do what Bird was doing (mminus the passing). Unfortunately he has doesn't have the drive to get there.

I must admit, even though I am a self-professed "LA-hater," I do like the Clips....a little bit.

Do not be too hard on Yourself.

You hate for the Lakers ( fully understandable ) overshadows any kind of a sympathy for the Clippers

You guys want know why Piksi is pestamistic(spelling) he is a Red Star fan I would be depressed too if I had to cheer for a team like that.

BTW this the most I have posted on this form in a day in almost five years.;

What will Adelman do with Peja on Sunday? I predict he gets 35 minutes, win or lose.

make that 40.

RA has been/ is / will always be - very loyal to his "main" players. That is actually a quality untill it comes back to bite You

peja will look at himself more in the mirror especially if he keeps playing like he has been playing of late.He wasn't invisible it was his poor play that was visible. He needs to get in the gym after practice and shoot the ball,it looks like from the way he releases the basketball that he needs practice time on his shot.He looks like he is rushing his shot and he looks impatient like he is afraid he will not get the basketball. In my opinion he is trying to hard to prove that he can step up without webber and be the second leader that the TEAM needs. The ball is in his court right now and he can't blame it on cuttino or anyone else it is up to him to get some heart and step his game up.The Good thang with the TEAM is that they have other players that can score and do some dammage if his game is off.But at the end of the day peja will look at the last couple of games and overstand that he needs to step his game up and help the TEAM get better. as well as himself.

Will he? He hasn't been one to make adjustments in the past. From a distance it doesn't seem like he has the will/desire to conquere things that beat him. (ie. playoffs, Bowen, Hasell etc.)

Great description of Glens avatar. Too bad they chose to leave Kingsfans, they had many thought provoking posts.

This will be an interesting post season. You have to let things play out you can talk about hassell but we have to see if he faces bruce bowen. It isn't going to be the one dimensional Bowen's or hasell's that will put peja's game in check,Peja is his own worst enemy and he alone will determine if he will step his game up.I think he will look at hese games and start to question his own worth and value that he has to offer as a player for the Good of the TEAM.He will or he will defintely be look at as a failure and I don't think he wants to go out like a scrub like that.

I've seen his game for the last 6 years. Hopefully this is the year he totally wears a skirt during the regular season and plays hard in the playoffs instead of vice-versa.

Equating Peja's lack of toughness to being too "girly" is incredibly insulting....

to us girls.

Okay, I know that shot was a little more below the belt than I like to go, but when someone leaves the door wide open, how can I pass up the obvious joke??

See then we will turn this into a Webber vs. Pedja debate all over again and quite frankly that gets us no where.

Okay, I really, REALLY tried to stay away from this because I've already been down this road and don't particularly have the desire to do so again.

However...

Heuge's original comment went completely unnoticed until you brought it up to warn us all of the evils of the unending Peja vs. Webb debate. If you really want to see the subject die, then perhaps you should do what you have warned so many of us to do and let it go.

Peja forgot to wear his testosterone patch again! Quick, somebody find it for him. :)

He accidentally used Vlade's Nicotine patch from last year :) It happens when you get ready for the game in a hurry.

WTF ? Aleksandar, are you ok ? You get enough hits off the bong tonight ?

I don't even mean that as an insult, but a person who's not under influence of something mind-brain altering could not have gone for pages (like, 5 or 6) repeating the same thing ("Webber is irrelevant to this discussion" , etc.) over and over again. Ridiculous !

Maybe if you guys were to listen I would not have to repeat myself :);)

I appreciate and in general sahre this sentement but I will remind you that earlier this year you often demanded that the Kings should be blowing teams out, espcialy non-play off teams like the Clips. Had Pedja simply hit 8 of 10 in stead of 2 of 10 there is 12 more points, maybe no blow out but not a close game either.

celts right - watever happened to the complaining after single digit victories that "should have been blowouts"

imho - two last second shots against two subpar teams is nothing to harp on

He's been gone a handful of games, and considering what we've seen since Peja came back I think C-Webb is more than relevant to the conversation, especially when a lot of people seemed to imply that Webb had some kind of negative effect on Pejas game. What a joke.

i agree wholeheartedly kp....its not about peja vs. chris - its the fact that webber's game never was detrimental to peja as much as peja's mentality hurt himself

Peja's seemingly indifferent attitude shouldn't surprise anyone. This is still the player that requested a change of scenery. Many people have speculated on the different reasons for his struggles. Maybe I haven't read the postgame interviews as diligently as I should, but I don't recall Peja ever recanting that statement about wanting to be traded. There are times where he seems like he is really into the game and others when he's just going through the motions.

Yes dsee what I mean it has to really stop. All of it. This Webber vs. Pedja thing is stupid and pointless and is not productive.

Okay, I know I'm late to the party but IMHO what has to stop is all this stuff about what has to stop...

I've read this whole thread, which had some really good points in it. Unfortunately, a lot of them were lost because people kept getting sidetracked because one person was upset that Webber was being brought up.

Well, hello? Webber is GOING to be brought up. Why on God's green earth wouldn't he be after everything that went on? I'm sorry, AleksandarN, but I didn't see you here saying it all should stop BEFORE the Webber trade so doing it now just looks a little hollow to me.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Now, back belatedly to the topic at hand.

I was screaming at the TV last night. I was very angry because not only did Peja phone in his game, it seemed to me that Grant was trying desparately to find something good to say about it.

What's that about?

Peja needs to suck it up and play. I said it at the beginning of the year, and I'll say it again now. Peja Stojakovic is one of the best pure shooters in the league, but you certainly can't tell it from most of his recent performances. He's not playing with heart, he's not playing with brains. I quite frankly don't know what he's doing.

My two cents on the Thomas pass are that Thomas shouldn't have made that pass, true, but Peja SHOULD have been able to get it. He didn't try...and that really bothers me.

Come on, #16. STEP UP AND PLAY!!!!!
