Pedja as a Pacer(Did he pull a Vince?)

Why couldn't he play like he that for us.

B) It's not like he is averaging 30ppg

C) JO is out so rebounds are up

Different system maybe? Perhaps he is a better fit for that team than he was for the Kings this season? Or perhaps, just needed a change of scenery.

Either way, it looks like it was a good trade for both teams.

It is just dissapointing to see him play like this. Where was this Pedja for us especailly when we needed him so bad this season. If he played like this for us we would be above .500 team right now. It just pisses me off.

No, I don't think so.

Well the rebounding has been there consistently since January.

Also he's the main option a lot with JO out (same for S-Jack) so they get even more shots (not just jumpers) for him than he did here in Sac the last couple seasons. Those two have found a very nice chemistry too. Have to remember as well, the Pacers are a much deeper team than the Kings. Aside from one game, the first one at Wizards (played ok, led a surge in the 4th with Fred Jones to make a threat), all the games following have been at home. Three of them Lakers/Blazers/Warriors, the three he played most well in. Did not close to that vs. Detroit and the Spurs.

Also have to remember he was injured a number of times the last two seasons, aside from 2-3 periods of time.

I'm happy for him and am enjoying it, and the Pacers just as I always have.

I know but you should not be. It was a good trade for both teams. Peja needed a change of scenery and Kings needed new "blood". Worked out pretty well for both parties.

Peja mailed it in this season while with the Kings. It's as simple as that. It's only 5 games, but I don't think he had 5 games all season like this. You could see the direction that the team was going was different, things were changing, Peja didn't like it, he pouted, he took his ball and he went home.

Now he's in a new system, that is focusing on setting Peja up. Why?? Because, JO is out right now and they don't have any legitimate threats. So, the Pacers are making sure that little ole Peja is perfectly set up, so he doesn't have to get his own shot. He was having to fend for himself more in more with the Kings and not only did he not like it, he's damn near incapable of it. *Scrapes hand from under chin at Peja* So, glad you aren't here anymore.

Some people will always think that Peja intentionally didn't do well. That's just the way it is...

I personally am very glad things have worked out the way they did. If Peja shines for the Pacers, more power to him. I definitely think the Kings got the better end of the deal at this point in time.

Having said that, I have to predict a short life-span for this thread.

Well, I can only wish Peja the best. He had some exceptional years here as a King, and I thank him for that. You guys do realize that he was part of the fab 5 that mesmerized us during the golden years. I'm glad he's doing well as a Pacer.

If he had played for us like he's playing for the Pacers, we'd still be softer than Charmin.

I don't think Peja pulled a Vince Carter. I don't think he has it in him to be that kind of person.

I do think it's pretty clear he wasn't happy here after Vlade left. That's just a fact. IMHO he didn't intentionally not perform.

My recommendation would be to get over it. Wish him success in Indiana. Celebrate what you're seeing now from the Kings. All of a sudden they're not the softest team in the league any longer...

Exactly. If Peja started creating his own shots, driving to the hoop and dunking all of a sudden then I'd be pissed off. Fact is Pacers are using him better end of story.

Indy has a more structured offense than the Kings and are playing team ball since the injury of Jermaine O'neal. The good thing is Peja has limited his forced shots and is looking to pass more. He shoots pretty much only when he is open and is taking higher percentage shots. In any case, his numbers are nothing out of the ordinary. Please don't compare Peja professional attitude with that of Vince Carter. Now, if you are talking about softness..

I just don't believe that you should have to baby a player and do everything you can to make sure he can get his shot off. I know on one hand you may look at that statement an say, we'll if you set up a play you want to try to run it and make sure the guy gets a clean shot. True I agree. But, not every play ran is a specifically called play for an individual. It's a set. Whoever ends up with the cleanest look takes it. In a set situation Peja became horrible after Doug and Peja, 2 guys that fed hiim and made sure he was set up, were gone. He cannot fend for himself and create his own shot. He has to have the situation created for him. I just don't like that kind of player, nor do I believe you should have to run your offense that way.
