Could we take PEJR back or do his rights still belong to the knicks

I thought the Knicks waived him?

Found it.. They did..

Right name, not enough game.
Patrick Ewing Jr. was waived Monday by the New York Knicks, who got down to the 15-player limit by cutting the son of their career scoring leader.... more...

It's kind of funny that he's playing for the D-League team whose two affiliates are the team that drafted him and the team that cut him.

wouldve been cool to keep him but we didnt... maybe if we trade salmons... he needs to work on his game, he's athletic but lacks skill. thats why the knicks waived him. they couldve sent him to the d-league to avoid the roster spot problem...

PEJR is a 3. I like him, but we don't need him.

So what if Ewing consistently outplays Greene in the D league? Are we going to invite Ewing to join the big club? Keep Greene in the D league until he outplays Ewing? I would say Ewing has got to be highly motivated in order to find out the answer to that question.

Honestly, I can't see the guy becoming anything special in the league. I like him and all, but I think he's just another Ricky Minard or David Bluthenthal (sp?)

Besides, it doesn't mean too much if he outplays Greene right now. Obviously for our sake I would like to see Greene outperform him today. However, PEJR is I believe 23 and Greene is 20. I don't think there's any doubt that Greene has the opportunity to become a much better pro, he just need to work hard and continue developing. He seems to have a good attitude so it's a good bet he will eventually become a quality player.

I think PEJR has more definsive potential and more of a NBA body. I think he has Bruce Bowen type potential. Doesn't mean he will get there, but he can be a great wing defender, but will need to learn to hit the corner 3 consistently.

PEJR has 0 offense, and thats his largest problem. He was a very good defender in college, but has no shot at all. He's basicly a power forward in a two guards body with no offense.

Agreed. If he is going to have a NBA career developing the corner 3 needs to be his focus. He has the physical attibutes to be an extremely good NBA defender. Almost in the Artest mode (strong, athletic, can guard 2/3 and even 4 to a degree). However, right now he is a complete liability on O. Hopefully he realized that to have a pro career, he only needs to master 2 shots and he works on them non-stop over the summer. He is still young enough he can certainly develop those.
