Only way I could find to move K9...

And thats to Atlanta Hawks for Tyronn Lue (30) and Lorenzen Wright (32), who could bring imediate help for this season, both are veteran and solid role players with just one more year on their contract which wont push back our rebuilding mode. Lue would be a great backup for bibby, hes energetic, athletic, excels in the open court and can create his own shots...Wright has good rebounding skills and post moves...
I think Petrie could convince them to make this move since their frontcourt isnt that good...and Horford wont contribute right away...
the deal would be Kenny Thomas and a 2008 2nd round pick for Tyronn Lue and Lorenzen Wright.

or maybe just Tyronn Lue if the Hawks are still under the cap since we already have enough frontcourt help.

While I don't particularly like these 2 players, if that trade actually works and gets us shorter contracts, I'm all for it.

I might actually prefer to simply buy K9 out though if its possible.

Not so sure about the Atlanta angle there -- between Horford, Josh Smith and the two Williams boys they've got more PF than you can shake a stick at. And Horford might be the most NBA ready of the Top 10 picks.

I do think there are a number of other longshot scenarios out there -- the Warriors might take him for Foyle given their system. Houston still has its Sura ender and could look to just bring in a solid placeholder PF to team with Scola, especially if they get Francis (depedning on what Adelman has to say about Kenny). Be a complete team at that point. Jersey still has a weak frontcourt. Etc. KT is about as far from a hot commodity as you can get I think, but there are places where if you squint hard enough maybe you can see it.

Isn't Josh Smith a Small Forward?

I certainly think so, but they had him running at PF down the stretch. Well...kind of. Part of the problem is their insane love for Marvin Williams (who only cost them Deron Williams and Chris Paul) who would break a nail if he ever grabbed a rebound or put his scrawny little body on anyone, and so he kind of becomes a SF and Smith kind of a PF when the two are paired.

Isn't Josh Smith a Small Forward?

That's what people thought of him as coming into the league, but Hawks fans say he simply lacks the lateral quickness to guard SFs. And he's actually pretty tall.

He's not a true interior presence, but he does rebound and block shots. He's not a guy who's going to intimidate the opposition from going into the paint, but he does well with what he has.

He's no a PF in the traditional sense, but he's effective. He'd be REALLY effective in a system like the Suns.

So between Smith, Shelden Williams and Horford, they really have zero use for Kenny Thomas.

The only way we move K9 is either telling him to move out of Sac (buying him out), or to trade as part of a package w/ Bibby/Artest. Of course in order for them to take K9 I am sure they would offer back a long contract. So I just say buy the dude out. I really hate K9's game now. He has to be one of the worst PF in the league, and his contract will be a pain to move.

Well, Deron Williams or Chris Paul. Even Atlanta wouldn't have been dumb enough to pass up on both of them for Marvin...right? ;)
