One Player...

I do think the Kings will schedule workouts with Wright and Green some other time, that's not the issue. The issue is seeing prospects who are "afraid" to go head to head with other equally talented players. I believe there's a reason why GP scheduled those four players at the same workout - he wants to see how well Wright and Green create offensively against a good defender like Brewer.
Wright faced off with Brewer in a later workout for the Bobcats, so apparantly the problem isn't related to being afraid of him.

Green apparently had restrictions from Georgetown, as BMiller52 noticed.

I don;t get how Georgetown has any say in the matters? Is this just as some power play because he hasn't signed with an agent yet? What's their interest?

Indeed it's uncommon for a college to put restrictions on a player like that. This could potentially affect Green's stock since he still has some things to prove. I'd think if he plays well in a multi-player settings he can really improve his draft status.

i would like to hear yi jianlin or joakim noah.

so of course we are going to hear acie law IV.
You know what though....Acie Law is one of those solid choices...he may not be a superstar(probably won't be), but he's probably be a solid pick no matter what. He could even be a good pick as high as 10 when you look back on the draft in 3-5 years. If Law's the choice, I wouldn't be disappointed at all.

I've never been on the Hawes bandwagon...he's a sexless pick IMO. If we draft him, oh well...

I like Conley, Brewer, Noah, Green as realistic picks @ #10.

I REALLY want Horford though.

EDIT:
Where is this "most" draft boards have him in the 12-16 range...usually the earliest he appears on most is at 16....16-25 is a much more accurate range for Smith. And even that is overpaying for the guy...Early 2nd round is where he SHOULD go...he'll be a scrub back-up C his entire career. I mean I love Justin Williams and all, but the reason he's great is he went undrafted. If Smith went undrafted then he'd be a steal, but in the mid first round, that's HIGHLY overpaying for the guy.
First of all, you act like these draft boards are Oracles, and god forbid you draft somebody a few spots ahead of where some Joe Schmoe with a computer has people ranked. I mean, Chad Ford once was surprised that the Heat took Dwyane Wade over Macej Lampe. I'm not saying I know more than these guys, but they should all be taken with huge grains of salt. Every year teams pick guys higher than the "experts" thought.

Anyway, I haven't seen him as low as 25. Here's the rundown of some of the rankings I've seen:

Nbadraft.net: 15
Draftexpress: 16
ESPN: 18
MSNBC: 12

I like Brewer and Noah too, and if they fall, great. I don't like Green because I don't think he's quick enough and is not good at creating his own shot, I don't like Conley because he can't shoot. Smith is extremely athletic, he can shoot, he can board, and has a lot of potential. He's the type of big we need. And frankly, the fact that you don't like him is an endorsement in my book.

Based on the NCAA tournament, I feel like Brewer is the best player in the draft not named Durant or Oden. I'd be shocked if he falls to ten. Despite the Kings needs it would cause a real dilemma in having to skip over him despite being the "best available player". I seriously doubt Conley will last beyond #5.

I know nothing about the Chinese player, but would be happy enough with shifting around to snag Horford or Noah. I love Nick Young as a player and think he's going to be a star, but the Kings obviously have other needs.

Speaking of Chinese players, I was interested to see that Petrie fit Sun Yue into his workout. I guess there's few ways this could be interpreted:

1) He's not really interested in Sun Yue, but was hellbent on having 4 SFs work out against each other, and Sun Yue was available. If this is the correct explanation, Artest should waste no time in finding a good real estate agent.

2) Petrie may be considering getting a mid-late second rounder. Ron: you know you'd love the whole beach scene in Miami.

3) Petrie may be bargain-basement shopping for this year's Justin Williams type of deal. This wouldn't exactly be big news, he does that regularly, and does it well for the most part. I was kind of hoping that he'd take a look at Sun Yue, because he might fall through the cracks, and he opens up some intriguing possibilities. Before he got his height, he played PG, and is still very much a pass-first player, which is unusual in a SF. This could point in the direction of Petrie thinking about continuing to play a shoot-first PG, and acquiring another relatively big guy (besides Brad) to run the offense through.

Anyway, I just thought it was interesting, relative to the mostly bored-to-tears-when-I'm-not-gravely-disappointed tone of this offseason so far.

I read it on DX:

I believe there's a reason why GP scheduled those four players at the same workout - he wants to see how well Wright and Green create offensively against a good defender like Brewer. He wants to see how Green looks against guys who are more athletic than. Etc.

It's unlikely that we can bring in the top four SFs in the same workout again, so Wright/Green has successfully dodged their toughest opponents. So what if Wright/Green comes to Sac and totally dominates against some 2nd rounders? That proves nothing. And GP's doubt about Wright/Green's weakness are never addressed.

It's kinda like Gerald Green's stunt a couple of years ago. He kept avoiding workouts with other top SG/SFs, so GMs doubt about his game were never addressed. Green ended up sliding more than 10 spots.

At least that's what I hope will happen to Green and Wright anyway. I really don't want us drafting those clowns.:(
The more I read about Green, the more I don't like him. I "watched" him once in the NCAA's and he was invisible (it's hard to watch an invisible guy). Then I've read various scouting reports on him. I just don't see the attraction. Not showing up at this workout just adds fuel to the fire.

Ugh. He's not a good defender and he can't creat his own offense. He would be a nice pick for a mid to late first, but I want someone who's ceiling is better than a David Lee or Troy Murphy.

I hope we're going to at least try out Thad Young.
