One Conspiracy Theory - Pretty Much Proven!

Thats really crazy stuff, i say that video wont even stay up for a day, NBA will pull it down as soon as possible.

He does clearly pick the one with the creased corner and it does appear his technique when picking the first envelope is different when he picks that one from the others.

BUT

There is one turn of the lotto bubble where all the envelopes reach the top of the bubble and land down hard at the bottom with a thud, how do we know the crease wasn't a result of that thud?

Still, wow. It doesn't look good.

Well then the black hellecopter folks ought to have something to be excited about! Consider the following assumptions and facts:
1. (assumption) Stern/the NBA fix results to placate fans and support big/popular teams

2. The Maloofs have asked Stern to help with the arena deal

3. The Kings are in the lotto for the first time in 9 years

4. Season ticket sales for the NBA's hottest ticket team (Kings) are down

5. A Top pick would revitalize the flagging franchise making an arena deal easier to work out.

6. CONCLUSION Stern might/will fix the draft so despite the long odds the Kings get a top 3 pick.

Enjoy!

Or just as relevantly -- why would he have accounting boy crease the envelope while putting it in the bubble in front of everyone when presumably it could have been creased at any point in the back room?

Conspiracy theories are always a bit fuzzy on those kinds of details. Never know in this case, but there was a 1 in 7 chance of it happening regardless. Hardly a "must have been fixed" type percentage.

Not very sure, there are a few doubts just because its stern and just because it was the knicks

1. Not sure if all the envelopes look that way but the first one the accountant boy drops seems to have the creased corner

2. Very interesting way to pick up the first envelope, something he didnt do for the others

3. He seemed to check the corner before announcing it was first (too lazy to check the whole video again, did they say the order in which he would pick, the guy talked about the order in which it will be announced )

Stern believer

Cute, but I'd give at least 1000-1 odds that this conspiracy theory is completely false.

Oh, and I don't get the sentiment that he picked the first envelope differently than the others. He did the same reach in and turn over thing most of the time.

That's what I saw.

The camera just happened to be zoomed on the Knicks envelope.

Ewing was originally why they started doing the draft lottery selections behind closed doors and why they went to ping pong balls. Envelopes could become mishapen like we just saw.

If you want conspiracy, how bout Orlando getting the 1st pick in 1993? (either Webber or Penny to go along w/ Shaq) They had only 1 ball in the drum.

I agree...I just saw it for the first time and there didn't seem to be much difference. Oh well, gotta love a good conspiracy.

That I would agree on simply because it was the only envelope that was not thrown in without hitting the side of the roller thingy.....

But, it only takes 1.

*Please let ours be the 1.*
