Needless to say Golden State would be all over that deal. I don't think the Kings would however. Murphy + Miller is like having the same player at two positions. I like Troy however, but I don't think I would give up Peja/Thomas/Corliss for he and Dun.

I agree, that'd be a reaaaaly one-sided deal...I mean Mike Dunleavy isn't that great...maybe a 12ppg guy...and Troy Murphy is a rebound machine and a good outside shooter, but can't play D (hey, you're right, he is a Miller clone)

In my "dream," Elton Brand would much address what the kings need much more effectively. Plus, Magette is easily twice the player Dunleavy is

Oh, and what's all this KG talk? C'mon he's 29, why would we want him as he's leaving his prime? That would suck to be stuck with is $20mil+ a year contract when he's in his mid thirties (EB on the other hand is 26, not even in his prime yet)

Chandler Next On Bulls' Priority List

Chicago Tribune - As expected, the Bulls on Monday matched the contract offer Toronto had extended to guard Chris Duhon, a big step in the Bulls' efforts to bring back restricted free agents who were major players in their 47 victories last season.

Meeting with restricted free agent Tyson Chandler is the next pressing matter for Bulls general manager John Paxson. He and club Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf are scheduled to meet with the 7-foot-1-inch center and agent Jeff Schwartz on Tuesday in California.

"It's important because this has gone on for quite a while," Paxson said of negotiations with Chandler's camp. "The thing that can get lost in translation is our commitment to him--how much we want him back here."

Paxson and Chandler have spoken by phone but haven't had face-to-face contact because Chandler has spent the off-season in his native California. Paxson's trip, therefore, is essential to foster dialogue.

Reinsdorf is on the West Coast for business related to baseball, and his presence in negotiations with Chandler says a lot about how much the Bulls value the 22-year-old who joined them four years ago straight out of Dominguez High School in Compton, Calif.

A team source said the Bulls have offered a long-term deal heavy on incentives with hopes Chandler will be compelled to produce a breakout season. In the past, Chandler has been hindered by back injuries and an inconsistent work ethic.

Chandler's camp likely wants a deal similar to what the 76ers gave Samuel Dalembert, who will make more than $60 million over six years. Chandler declined to comment, and attempts to reach his agent have been unsuccessful.

To Lakers : Kenny Thomas
Corliss Williamson
2nd Rounder
To Kings: Devon George
Chris Mihm
Jumaine Jones

Kings-
Miller/Mihm
Reef/Skinner
Peja/George/Jones
Wells/Garcia/Martin
Bibby/Hart/Price

Lakers-
Brown/Bynum/Medvedenko
Thomas/Cook/
Odom/Williamson

Can't see it happning but it would be nice having Skinner and Mihm shot blocking ability both coming off the bench....

I missed the part about why on Earth the Lakers would want to trade Mihm for Kenny Thomas and his contract?

Would be nice, but I can't even do the offseason thing and construct an argument for that one. Lot of teams don't like being small at PF/C. Phil is one of those guys.

Not a chance. The Lakers have already lost out a good FA or two by insisting on no more than 2 year contracts. They ain't gonna take Kenny's five.

Chandler has never had work ethic problems. He's a gym rat and is CONSTANTLY working on him game. Curry has the work ethic issues. You'd think your home town paper could get the facts straight. I guess that's asking too much.

Bad trade IMO, pus didnt they trade Deavan George already to the Wizards for Kwame Brown? So i dont think that trade would work.

Nope, that was Chucky Atkins w/ Butler. It was reported a couple places, but weren't sure on who was going with Butler, turned out to be just Atkins.

this reminds me of the sar deal...everything seems in order, but something is not quite right. a little misstep by the bulls and it all may fall through...into the waiting arms of geoff petrie

There's no way we can get lucky 2 TIMES in one off season.

Yah was just an idea, we need a 7 foot defender, because i don't want to loose to Jerome James again... ever...

This one would cost us. But it would be worth it IMHO.

Let's see, they want to offer incentives? Call his agent and say we'd be willing to make the offer without them. Love to make the offer even. Don't even have to pay more, just have tos how confidence.

They say they want to preserve their cap room for next year? Well, it just so happens with have a major player their coach likes who just happens to have an ending contract. Max flexibility, which they lose in a big deal to Chandler.

If there's any hesitation or doubt there on either side there are ways to get into the conversaion.

I find it hard to beleive that GP, Maloofs and Rick would trade Peja for Chandler. Some fans might do it but I don't think the Kings administarion would.

Then you don't understand the business concept of the NBA. If the deal is really what GP and/or the Maloofs thought was best for the organization, they would pull the trigger in a heart-beat. It's not that far-fetched. It would put Peja in the Eastern conference; it would bring us a 7'1" young player; it would solve the problem of having to worry about Peja demanding a maximum deal; and it would entirely change the dynamics of the team and give us that vaunted flexibility. Petrie would have some spare parts to work some more magic with.

This could happen.

Im not sold on Chandler..

He has not proved a thing in the NBA, and still lacks an NBA body (please don't compare him to Garnett). Never been a double digit rebounder, or a double digit scorer. Can't pass the ball, bad hands, and I could go on.

Just not someone I would give up a solid all-star for.

This guy averages almost 2 blocks a game, almost 10 points a game, a steal, and close to 10 rebounds a game. And he will only get better.

10ppg 10rpg 2bpg 1spg

We have the offense in Bibby, SAR, and Miller, so 10ppg I will most certainly sacrfice for 2 blocks per game and a steal per game!

Actually I see him play quite a bit, and I think last years stats is probably where he will stay. May get slightly better, but don't be fooled, this guy is no KG, he is just not the same kind of player as KG, at all. He is a nice piece to have and I enjoy watching him play but he does have a lot of question marks to stick him to a hefty contract.

Yes I agree he is no KG, but we won't need him as KG. We just need him for his defense, where as KG is an all-around amazing player. We don't need to have him averagine 22 points a game. We already have that in Bibby, Sar, Miller.

Substituting Offense That We Allready Have for Defense We've Never Had.

And that is the ONLY reason I can't see GP pulling a trigger on this one.

If it was for a LEGIT all-star PF/C then I can see it happening but I just can't see the Kings administration pulling the trigger on a deal that trades away an all-star for an unproved 7-footer who is still raw
