I tried it - and nothing happened. If you found something, why not just copy and paste it?

"New Jersey acquires Shareef Abdur-Rahim from Portland for a 2006 first-round pick (lottery protected) and the Nets' trade exception."

control-f allows you to search for things within a website on firefox. You probably should change your web browser, go to mozilla's website and download it for free.

No, you can't trade your mid level exception. If a trade is made whereby one team under the cap absorbs a larger salary than the one they trade back, the other team gets a trade exception. These can then be used in future trades, but not to sign players.

Unless I'm dead wrong, the MLE can't be traded. If it can, I don't know why it never has before. . .

ah thanks for clearing that up, makes much more sense now

here's a trade me and my friend where fantasizing about before the SAR signing

KT + Peja + Skinner or Williamson for Elton Brand & Corey Magette

thats less likely than a KG trade though

keep dreaming aint no way we getting 2 starters for a border line all-star n spares

Peja was an all-star 4 times. The guy said "fantasizing".

They'd basically be the Kings of most of 2005 without Bibby in the starting line-up. ;)

3 times. Actually chosen twice, but also got in once as Webb's replacemnt when he was injured in..02-03 I think?
Nonetheless, still more than Maggette and Brand combined, so that can be our pitch to Sterling. And he's such an idiot he might buy it. :) Actually more likely he would buy this one -- he's got an ENDING CONTRACT Donald. That should do it. :p

CTRL + F does the same thing in Windows XP. I didn't know what I was looking for, since Netguy said there was something about the MLE and being able to trade it. I thought I was looking for ANOTHER related article...

okay time for a new topic.....

since new york isnt houstoning allan houston and are looking to waive either malik rose or jerome williams.... what do you think of a thomas for williams trade.... id rather have jerome for 2 yrs at 6'9 than thomas for 4 at 6'7.....

How many hours of sleep do u get bricklayer? LOL!

Not that many actually -- I trained myself back in school to get it down to about 5-6 per night. Life's too short to be sleeping it away. ;)

not a bad idea jerome would bring energy n husle off the bench may b if he gets waived we could pick him up n trade thomas and others for some one better like a back up center

You can't trade for another team's MLE. It is an exception granted to each team that is potentially over the cap. Those teams either use it or lose it, it can't be dealt.

Also, why would the Sonics want Thomas, not to mention give up a first rounder to get him and his contract? They have Collison as a nice piece for the future and can re-sign Evans and/or Fortson if they wish. He really doesn't fit any role for them.

As for the other trade, I like Harpring and I would really like him as a backup to Peja, but I agree with VF21 about not trading Martin or Garcia. Especially since Matt Barnes can do almost the same job as Harpring at a discount price and allow the team to keep its young SGs.
Sonics are under the cap, and in this trade they get Jason Collins and Ron Mercer.
Kenny Thomas goes to New Jersey. If it's like you say, Kings get a trade exception instead of the MLE. Ok. I think it's a good trade too.

With NY not releasing Houston, they would be a prime canidate for at 3 team trade with UT. Houston, Richardson, Crawford, Hardaway, and now Marbury are all slotted to play SG under Larry Brown. KT to NY, Harpring and Humphries to Sac, and Crawford to UT is starting to look more realistic... Then Corlis for Rasho...Things to make you go "hmm..."

PG- Bibby/Hart/Price
SG- Wells/Martin/Garcia
SF- Peja/Harpring/Williamson
PF- SAR/Skinner/(Songila)
C- Miller/Rasho/Humphries/Sampson

No Corliss -- he's in S.A. in that scenario. ;)

Its a pretty good set of proposals and more withing the realm of possibility than most. But you are still asking for a lot of people to "see it our way", including Geoff himself. Anyway, as offseason proposals go (not sure why Humphries is included? Salary?).

I like what I've seen in these recent posts.

A starting lineup of:

Miller
SAR
Peja
Bonzi
Bibby

with a bench rotation of:
SF/OG: Harpring
C: Rasho
PG: Hart

PF:Skinner
OG: Martin
OG/SF: Garcia
PF/C: Sampson
PG: Price

I like.

If you look at the lineup above, the reason the top three bench players are separated are because those would be the primary rotation players, and they're all good defenders or shotblockers. Considering that with Adelman's usual 8-man rotation, the starters and the rotation benchers are on the floor a lot together, we could mix things up with some good defense often. The only two drawbacks are that the kids (Martin and Garcia) are squashed behind Harpring and don't see the floor much, and that when Rasho comes in and Miller slides to PF, our frontcourt is really slow.

Edit: another thing I realized is that Peja going up against Harpring every practice would be a good thing, forcing him to learn some new moves.

lol I love how I clearly state how that trade will never happen, and people still try to convice me to believe it won't happen...even though I know it won't

even though, when you think about it...its not THAT unlikely of a trade

Magette is very overrated, and is not much better, if at all, than Bonzi Wells. Also, Elton Brand has only been an All-Star one time, and has never been on a winning team. They are both good individual players, but they aren't winners. Coming to Sacramento would change that though....

but just think of this:

C - Brad Miller
PF - Elton Brand
SF - SAR
SG - Bonzi Wells
PG - Bibby

Then Magette on the bench? That would be a championship calibur team.

Yeah you're right...I should keep dreaming :D

I would rather go with a Troy Murphy at PF.

Maybe trade away Peja, Thomas, and Williamson for Troy Murphy, and Mike Dunleavy.

Move SAR to SF, Play Murphy at PF, and have Dunleavy play backup 2-3 for a year or two and then move him into starting position where we have a gap to fill. We all know GS drafts well, but cant keep their own talent. :D

c-Miller
pf-Murphy
sf-SAR
sg-Wells
pg-Bibby

Have Dunleavy as 6th man playing 2 or 3 depending on who needs rest. Hart backup PG, and Skinner backup big man.

Basically when I want in the next couple years to address our toughness, and rebounding issue is AK47, or Murphy. Those are the two guys I have my eyes on :D

Needless to say Golden State would be all over that deal. I don't think the Kings would however. Murphy + Miller is like having the same player at two positions. I like Troy however, but I don't think I would give up Peja/Thomas/Corliss for he and Dun.

Don't let anyone talk you out of your dreams. I'm dreaming of Kevin Garnett, so your dream is iminently doable compared to mine.
