VF21 is in tears. I cannot believe that Geoff Petrie did this in the middle of the season. I cannot support it and at this moment in time I have to wonder what I'm going to do with all my free time. You don't rip the middle out of a team like this in the middle of the year. The fact he did it AND sent Matt along, and got garbage back is deplorable. It was hard to say goodbye to Vlade; it hurt like hell to see Doug leave. Those trades were at least justifiable in my mind.

This isn't.

IF, as people have said all along, Petrie did this to make Pedja happy, then I am really and truly going to have to reevaluate whether or not I can even continue to root for this team I've loved for 20 years.

We keep the guy who doesn't want to be here and get rid of the guy who said all along his heart was here, he wanted to bring a championship to Sacramento and the fans, etc.

It may be a business, but I don't have to continue to give them my business if I don't supporr their business decisions.
I'm with you on this. I think that trading someone with Webb's passion and desire is ridiculous. I think that it is a slap in the face to Webb and everything he has meant for this team. He was traded for no one, and this is unexcusable. I hope I feel better in the morning, but right now I'm wondering what kind of team I've been routing for.

No more PBP? We need you now more than ever VF21!!!
I honestly do not know.

My heart is broken. I have watched other trades, and been sad, but not like this. Not in the middle of the season and not for what seems like nothing close to what we had.

I honestly think the heart of our team left. I honestly think the drive and desire of Chris Webber was a main motivator. I do not know what's going to happen...

I am crying.

HHHhhhmmmm………… Are you suggesting that Petrie, in all his genius has not done what is in the best interest of the franchise………….???

Good riddance…………

Most people I know, and everyone here (in my house) is celebrating the end of the era…………..

The era of placating his ego and centering the Kings show on making him look good and allowing him to get his numbers @ the expense of the team and the W……

(Watching him play second fiddle to AI or anyone will be entertaining, if nothing else..LOL)

Has anyone checked on Adelman and see if he is still breathing???

Anyone heard a price on his place in Granite bay yet????

Hey, shacko, weren't you banned at least once before? Well, you should be again.

Marcos Breton wrote an article in the Bee a while back on Chris Webber. It was for the most part another one of those cirtical pieces, but what always stuck with me because as much as it hurt, I thought it was true, is that look at every team's Chris has left, the Warriors and Wizards and they are almost left in shambles. The warriors are still getting over and trying to get back even some of the sucess they experienced with Chris, ditto for the Whiz (who are doing ok this season), and now, we will probably suffer the same fate.

I'm trying to more info from KHTK, but its a little sickening to listen to Grant Napear. He's such a mouth piece for the logo. A week ago he said you can't trade Webber, because you don't get what he's worth. Now he's saying its a good trade. I mean have SOME balls please.

Our core is too strong to duplicate those team's fates.

Webber was traded because the owner of the Kings said that they are OK with it. Blaming Pedja while very convinient in this situation is not going to change anything
You're got to be nieve to think that he didn't play a part.

I know this is heartbreaking for everyone....including myself....I seriously couldn't breathe for a couple of minutes....

But could someone answer my question? How could this trade go through? Bradley can't be packaged again. He was just packaged with Mobley. There has to be something to this.

Well we might as well get rid of Rick Aldeman and Pete Carril because the princeton offesne isn't going to work all that well now. What we have Brad now and thats it!

THATS BLEEPING IT!
You know I see some of these screen names on this board all the time but with comments like this I wonder if we watch the same time. What about Mike Bibby. What about Peja who we might keep now because his main problem whether he says it or not is gone. Also we have Brad Miller, oh and by the way Cuttino Mobley. Hey we have Mo evans, and Darius Songaila. We have a lot of talent here.

You said everything I want to say!

Although it's a bad trade, people are overreacting. A lot of these comments are just out of hand.
Second of all: To all the people supporting a Peja trade because we could afford to give up offense to get some defense and rebounding - we definitely did that. Just not the way you hoped.
Don't look at the trade in terms of who got a better deal - look at our team before and after. The only question mark is our passing - can our offense flow the way it has? Is peja really getting a good deal - in the past year, we've seen three of our best passers gone! Personally, I think that despite this, webber being gone will open up our offensive game - we have no great individual passers left - but we still have our attitude and our system. His style often caused stagnation.
Brad has to step up in not just scoring, but in creating. Mike may have to play a little more traditional pg. And Cat has to learn our system.

what a bad trade Kings got there!!! shocked!!!

all three guys Kings got are very untalented players, they are not scorers, only rebounders

Kings is aiming at building another Grizzles in the west, are you kidding?

hope Superwebb could lead Sixers step into the playoff

We could at least get Dalembert. Miller could play 4 and Dalembert would provide some defense at 5. But we got nothing for an all-star player. Actually it would be much better if we got nothing because all we got is tweener players with bad contracts.

I understand that Webber's value is not that high but couldn't we at least get some promising player or a draft pick?

Nice. I suppose it would be too much to ask for people to show a little respect and consideration?
I'm not trying to be disrespectful. The guy can shoot, but he can't move which limites his defensive capabilities or fast break capabilities. Being respectful is one thing, but dealing with reality is another. You have to deal with the reality that Webbers play will regress from here, as he can play less and less because of his knee.

Me too, both crying and heart broken...I had the highest hopes he would be a part of a Kings championship and that he would be able to retire as a King.
In the blink of an eye those hopes are dashed.

Are we suddenly going to become a cellar dwelller, no. But we will never be the same. Talent? What about heart? What about the sheer desire to win? What about the guys who brought the intangibles? What about the leadership? Vlade, DC, now Chris.
