we will have the same team all season and we should not expect any trades. its looking like this season will be worst then the last year and possibly the worst season we have ever had.

The Kings have already traded their two most moveable pieces that could still get back value, and they were KMart and Hawes. At this point, GP has already boxed himself in, and should exercise patience instead of another wishful quick fix. Aside from Carl Landry, I don't think they need to move any one and I don't think any team out there would want our garbage aside from Landry, who I think still has value.
Which one of the over 30 year olds with $15mil contracts would you have liked to have seen us blow our capspace on?
These just weren't our deals.
you cant just look at it as a glass half empty trade for us. i know we couldnt have pulled it off but if we would have gotten an expiring in carter (i think next years is a team option), a good back up center in gortat, a wing defender in pietrus, 3 mil, and a 1st round pick, i wouldnt have complained. carter would have made it easier to watch games this season and in his old age is still as good as omri or donte, or at least more consistent. gortat would make it easier to let dalembert go after this year. pietrus is a decent bench player, and we would have 3 million and a late first rounder which petrie can do wonders with. again, i dont think we had anything to get this trade but i think if we did, i would look at the glass half full instead of complaining that we only got an overpaid 30 year old player.
erm... who do we trade??? we have like 30-35 mill in contracts. so we trade like 50% of our roster for those 3 players?

did you read the whole post? in the beginning and the end i said "i know we couldnt have pulled it off..." and "again, i dont think we had anything to get this trade." my point is that we have to look at trades as a whole, and not pick out parts that we dont like or we will never like any trades. some see it as getting a 30 year old getting paid 15 million, others see it as more than that.
I've been as harsh a critic as anyone regarding the Kings' lack of aggressiveness in trades and free agency. Having said that, I really don't think Carter, Lewis, or Arenas is what this team needs. Not at their price, they all have HUGE contracts that their production just doesn't justify. If they're going to pick up a 20 million a year guy, it needs to be someone like Carmello, Paul, Williams, etc. Someone who's going to be a franchise player for years to come. Lewis and Carter are over 30 and declining every year and Arenas is playing on bad knees and will never be the player he was 3 or 4 years ago again.
What I’d like to see the Kings do, and that would help them get better is try and get Jameer Nelson. They need a backup center for Howard now so Nelson for Dalembert works for both teams.
What teams may want is our capspace and our youth -- its a potent combo, but not for a team like Orlando trying to contend, or Phoenix trying to hang on. And I assume we hung up when Washington called about Areans.
we need 2 do something though this team is playing terrible, we need a spark. something has to happen soon

If your not careful, you can make the same mistakes Detroit made recently. Had a lot of money to spend, and blew it on Vilanueva and Gordon, and killed any future flexibility(just remembered Prince is expiring). They made moves just to make moves. None of their signings have had any positive effect.
Great example. Detroit simply destroyed their own chances of being relevant in the next not-so-few years by throwing all that money on Villanueva and Gordon. That was such a stupid move.
BTW, remember when PW said they are a playoff team after they kicked our *** in Arco?...
I would say the Bucks also made the same mistake. Bogut/Jennings is a solid combo. Illyasova is a promising young talent. They made the playoffs, and then went after Magette's horrible deal, and signed Gooden and Salmons to a rediculous contracts, killing their future flexibility as well. Patience would have served them better than rushing into the mistakes they did.
And I assume we hung up when Washington called about Areans.
But what's the alternative? Sitting on the money and waiting for the perfect thing to come along? What if it doesn't come along, then what? At some point, you have to spend on the best you can get at the time and hope for the best.
is not spending it the best you can

Well to be fair, hasn't Redd been out all year and I believe Bogut is out now too? They spent over 70M on an aging Gooden/Salmons duo, took on Magette's 10M, and have a worse record.
When you're a bad team in a small market that no one wants to come to, perhaps it is. I'd like to see you offer some specifics as to what types of players you'd hold out for. I see you shooting down lots of ideas (though it's not just you, to be fair) but I never see you offer any specific ideas about what The Kings should spend their money on.
No. It's like buying a TV the week before a sale that some people think might go down but no one really knows for certain. It's like buying a tv a week before black Friday.
But I didn't ask who'd you'd throw money at now. I asked who you'd hold out for. There is no one I'd throw money at right now.
