Anyway, besides Martin, we really aren't that set with our wings. We have alot of them, sure, but no really great one. Our SF position is still a hole that is yet to be filled, and it remains to be seen whether Donte will ever fulfill his potential. Cisco is a good bench guy, not a starter.

No position should be disregarded.

I understand, but Kings really need an allstar caliber player, and most of PGs in this year's draft are not worth 4th pick.

I tend to agree. Get a new coach and a new PG. That's the fastest way to change the personality of the team. I don't think this is the worst team in the league talent-wise. It's one of the worst, but not as bad as their record this season. There's enough young talent there to build on. But the team is totally lacking in direction or chemistry. We'll need a SF as well, but PG is the biggest need by far.

That being said, we still have to draft BPA. Whichever player seems like the best shot to be a future All-Star on this team is the guy we need to take. Style of play and position do play a role somewhat. We don't want to end up drafting someone else's future All-Star for them. But we don't want to pass on an elite player for a mediocre one who's the best fit on a terrible team either. It's not going to be easy finding the right balance. (Which is why we really should try to get another lottery pick and double our chances.)

I would do that in a quick second, that is like a dream trade for us. Something we Kings fans draw up around here. I would then try and trade down with 4 and try and get two picks out of that. AAAAAND the icing on the cake would be k-9 is gone and got us Rubio.

Barring a trade or a planned trade, I tend to agree. Kevin Martin isn't going anywhere, and a SG is only going to get a few minutes backing him up. That's even before you consider that we have three SFs with long deals clogging up the roster.

I know it's crazy to pass up good players, but the Kings currently have a situation where any wing that is drafted couldn't hope to get any playing time for the first couple of years. Meanwhile, there's only one PG under contract and no backup bigs.

Add it all up and the first round is probably a PG and big draft only for the Kings.
