No Longer Pacific Division Celler Dwellers!

I know it is only a 1/2 game up on the Warriors, and there is a long road stretch coming, but it is sure nice not to be in the Pacific Cellar!:D

We aren't that far off from Denver in the standings and they are in 3rd place in the Western Conference. Just goes to show how pathetic the North West Division is this year.

As far as standings wise that is cool. But is irrelevent because they lead their division. The top 3 teams in the conference are division leaders regardless of their standings. So technically the 8th seed could have a better record than the 3rd seed.

Well that was my point really sauce. If the Pacific had been as bad as the NW, we might just have been in second place in our division. There's not much parity between the divisions in the Western Conference.

More importantly, we've passed up the Timberwolves as well. Only two teams stand between us and the 8th seed, Utah and the Lakers.

Perfect. I hate them both.

And I believe we have 2 games left against Utah, and 3 games left against L.A. Winning all 5 of those games would be unbelievably huge, if unlikely.

Lakers next 5 games.

Atlanta
Portland
Sacramento
L.A. Clippers
Boston

Kings next 5 games.

Memphis
Golden State
L.A. Lakers
Portland
Cleveland

Our schedule looks a little tougher but I don't think the Lakers beat the Clips or us. We've been out rebounding our opponents later and Chris Mihm has been out for the Lakers. We just may dominate the glass and control the game inside.

If we can steal games away from Memphis and Cleveland, we'll be in good position.

Jazz are more injury prone than us. Regardless, I don't think they'll be too much trouble.

Lakers will lose to Clips/Kings/maybe one of Boston or Portland. Darius Miles is back, who was having a very nice year before he had to get knee surgery, and played well in his first game back.

Lakers do have an easy schedule coming up. Their next 6 games are all home games with the exception of the Clippers game which is technically still at home.

Wouldn't it be sweet if we beat out the lakers for the final spot in the west on the last game of the season?

Sadly yes.

We went from being Western Conference rivals to division rivals to last spot in the playoffs rivals. :o

It's not sad. A month ago, I thought we didn't have a chance at the post season. It takes time to build a team, doens't happen in half a season. This "new" kings team has long term growth potential.

uh oh. Looks like we may be back in the cellar for the all-star break. Warriors are beating up on the Clipps. Shoot. :(
