This is gonna end with the Niners having to attempt a game winning FG, isn’t it?
Ooooooh boyThis is gonna end with the Niners having to attempt a game winning FG, isn’t it?
Yeah, team just isn't it. I think we probably still are a playoff team? But we certainly aren't a world-beater squad that's a NFC favorite.
This is also precisely why you go pay the QB. So you don't have to worry about fall-off from a pile of overpriced vets not performing up to standard. Pay Brock and start over.
Makes the Pearsall pick all that more confusing. We have like 50 offensive weapons and massive holes in our LB core, O Line and secondary.
I have to assume that Pearsall was the highest rated player on their board. That's the only thing that makes sense. But even if that's the case I think you either trade back or select a guy rated a bit lower in a bigger position of need. Because even if Pearsall weren't hurt most of camp or tragically shot, I don't think he sees the field other than maybe on special teams unless there were injuries. He wasn't going to play ahead of Aiyuk, Samuel, or Jennings at the very least.
Whatever the rationale, it certainly looks like a really arrogant pick from Lynch and Shanahan given how poorly the team is playing right now.
The problem, for me at least, is NOT a question of do you pay Brock or do you not pay Brock?. You have to pay Brock. The real question becomes how much do you pay him, and for how long? If I were the Niners, I'd pay Brock for, say 5 years, or 3 years with an option for year 4. If, within a specified, and agreed upon, time period, the Niners do not make it back to the Super Bowl, you don't renew the contract, and you either let him walk or trade him for assets.Yeah, team just isn't it. Not many quarterbacks have a long enough career to be able to endure multiple cycles of becoming a contender. And most of them see that second cycle be a much shorter one. I think you have one more solid run left with Brock leading the way. If that don't work out, move on.
And, what I've outlined above is, quite precisely, why I despise Jerruh for giving Dak that stupid contract.
Is Taylor Swift's backup dancer looking for a new job this morning?
Can’t imagine Bill wanting to deal with Aaron Rodgers regardless of how strong the defensive side of their roster is. Philly I could see but not Dallas unless Jerruh drops an obscene contract on his table (likely) and gives up full control of roster (never)Is this Billy B’s time to shine or does he wait to see what happens in Philly/Dallas?
Not maybe. Absolutely. Saleh got scapegoated badly, but whatever it can be a huge help to us.
What was he scapegoated for? I don't remember that.
