Where is the secondary!? Late round secondary picks bringing in so-so talent. Another year of the same type of omission.
Ty Davis-Price met with Mike (MIKE) Shanahan during the pre-draft process?

Hasty kind of sucks, Moestert is gone … but did we really need a third round RB with Mitchell, Wilson, and Sermon around? I can’t wrap my head around this one.
Breaking: SMU WR Danny Gray to the #49ers, per source.

Deebo Samuel is a wide receiver & running back.

In the third round, the #49ers select a running back (Ty Davis-Price LSU) and a wide receiver (SMU speedster Danny Gray).

Aside from SS, the Niners' secondary is pretty much set. Tarvarius Moore was reportedly killing it before his injury last season too.
Precisely the sort of player you want to have when your QB is capable of throwing the ball 50 yards down the field flatfooted.Speed.
#49ers fans will love this:

The call that made @The99Athlete a member of the #49ers 🙏 pic.twitter.com/VJSMe66rrY
At a certain point, height doesn't matter when you've got the quick twitch speed that Gray has. Only reason the guy lasted this long in the draft.Just wish he was a bit taller.

Can't wait to draft Danny Gray in best ball only for Kyle Shanahan to bury him on the depth chart for 17 weeks.#TreySermon

Shanahan said he was surprised and disappointed that Deebo Samuel asked for a trade. Shanahan added: "Nothing was even remotely close to something we thought would be fair to us or fair to the 49ers."

Kyle Shanahan said he has a good relationship with Deebo Samuel and seems confident that his relationship with the #49ers can be repaired. John Lynch also said he believes "they can find a way through this." Both made it clear that they're intent on keeping Deebo Samuel.

Speed.
Eagles swung big with Dean and Davis. If both work out, Defense could be legit
Fast, but they dumped Mostert who was their top-end speed (home-runner) --- Unless there was more skeletons on Mostert's condition, why not keep him for the threat next year. Shanahan is all about the 4 yards. I didn't like the LSU RB pick much - they have short yard back Sermon already and Wilson Jr - redundant pick.. LB/Edge Jackson was good. Gray looked ok, a satisfactory pick - good burst. The 49ers could use a punter too if I remember.
Whether or not 49ers do "better:"rides heavily on Lance - he's on the clock this year - he's gonna have to earn his keep - his reads and processing have to improve by a good chunk. And honestly, the 49ers overachieved last year, they're unlikely to do better frankly - considering how average they looked in the regular season, they had a wildly successful post season. Beating a markedly better Packer team in winter conditions was historic. I wonder if the 49ers are gonna trade Garrapolo - maybe not. Next season may look like last season QB-wise for 49ers unfortunately - in other words average compared to the league.
Lynch on Alex Mack’s decision last night: “We’ve collected all the information we need heading into this draft.”

Could it be that Mack is actually certainly coming back and the 49ers want to maintain a smokescreen re: their draft needs? There is competitive advantage in that
