New Title (mods): Official Kumbaya Thread

True Kings fans are pulling for Jimmer to succeed and are/or should be patient in his reaching NBA level of play. As I've mentioned here before, I'm a new Kings fan because of Fredette...don't hold that against me. I'm pulling for everybody on this team to do well and win. But in all fairness, using last night's game for an example: Evans went 7/22 from the field. Is that better than Jimmer's 3/10. If Fredette took 20 shots and all the FT's down the stretch, he would have scored 25-35! What would we be saying then?

I admit he is having trouble adjusting to his new role and it pains me, but he really is trying to be a "team player". Absolutely no one on this team passes to him when he is open for a catch and shoot. We will see it...I hope it happens with this team. We don't want to see it happen elsewhere.

wow you tell me I'm being to sensitive here? sounds like your the one thats sensitive? ITS BASKETBALL!!!! "don't ever trash talk the Jimmer!" if you do I'm gonna call you a baby ! and from here on out I'm just gonna follow your posts or PM you that your a baby.... thats whats happening here...

rookie or not he's playing bad... IT blew it up last night... the last pick in the draft.... Jimmer has some serious hype to live up to and i hope eventually he does.... but just calling it for what it is right now or mentioning the fact that ITS POSSIBLE he busts.... ? who knows? i didn't say he would...

but thats gonna trigger all these people to be soooo offended to not even talk basketball anymore?

If a player deserves to be trashed, cest la vie. But honestly, to flip out like you did after his 7th game in the NBA? Knee-jerk much? It was plain sad and pathetic. I guess the opposite can be true now that IT had one good game and everyone is clamoring for him to start. I'm not a jimmer fanboy, all I wanna see is the players on my Kings team perform admirably and give it their best. I wanna see my squad win. But 7 games is WAY too soon to go out in left field like you did. That's like calling your wife and she doesn't answer her phone, and then when she calls you back in 5 minutes you accuse her of cheating. Just a BIT premature for your wild assessment, bud.

So this is now an official +1 farming thread?

Happy farmer pics! That's a great idea too!

How many threads have you made about this topic now? You obviously take your internet life a bit too seriously...

Anyway, what personal insults? I never saw any. More importantly, I never GIVE any. Although I have already had a few thrown my way by people who would rather call names than use logic. But hey, you'll always find people like that in life.

i like that back and forth of opinions even some trash talk... but this jimmer thing has taken it to a level thats just annoying... theres talking basketball and theres name calling and personal attacks...

i am opinionated at my basketball views and i just say what i feeling.... you wanna tell me I'm wrong and make some sort of case against it ... by all means ... say it the same way i do... or however you want....

thats fine... but keep it about the topic and basketball....
Well, if your join date was in 2007, then you wouldn't have been here when the Peja/Webber wars were on here all day long. It became the single dominant theme around here and it was ugly and unpleasant.

SO FAR the Jimmer homers have been tame by comparison, but I can see it brewing. For some reason it's the people who are fans of a particular player, rather than the Kings, that cause a problems around here, because they can't stand to see their player criticized. Then they end up defending their favorite by bashing other team members or the coach.

If you want to express opinions that are often extreme and emotion laden, you have to expect people to respond to that. I don't know the OP personally, but I always get the feeling he's trying to provoke strong reactions. But, it might just be a personality flaw. [joke] ;)

While I may not always agree with the mods, I very much appreciate them. Its why I joined this group. People seem to be able to post here without constant flaming, foul language and offensive attacks on anything and everything. I appreciate that we have some knowledgeable people here who can actually express their opinions, even strong ones, is a reasonable argument. I also like to share the feeling of fandom about the Kings, whoever is on the team or coaching them or who owns them. Thanks mods for keeping it generally civil around here. It is usually a thankless job. :)

Oops, I was actually being serious in my post up there. Went right past me.

Drat! My son is always telling me I'm too serious. Now I have to keep him from ever seeing this factual proof that he is totally right.

Kumbaya, my Lord............ ;)

I wasn't in the group that attacked you, I try and refrain from that kind of reaction as much as possible. Your Jimmer assessment was pretty wonky though so it doesn't at all surprise me that it drew that kind of reaction. The odd part is how you'd single out the rookie when almost everyone on the whole team was playing like crap. It would make a lot more sense if you went after Outlaw, Salmons, Tyreke before he came out of his funk, Garcia, Donte, etc. A lot of people would have probably related to bashing those guys but when it's the rookie who's played like 8 games in his NBA career, people were just like, WTF? Give the dude a chance to get accustomed to the league before you roast him.

He did to get response he wanted. Now that he is crying because of the outcome he knew he would get from some of the fans of Jimmer. Give me a break. It's like the kid you knew growing up who hit bee hives just for the fun of it, as soon he got stung he went crying to his mommy.

You actually supported the move to Anaheim. I lost all respect for any opinion you had about the kings long before the Jimmer thread.

I just wanted to tell everyone that I loved that time you felt ways about stuff and posted about it on the Internet. It made me feel ways about the ways you felt about stuff. Thanks for the feelings and stuff.

That don't make no sense.

When someone attacks a player, that player is easy prey. He's not here to defend himself. So what happens, is that fans of that player usually come to his defense, and attack back. What I find interesting is that the person who attacked the player, doesn't seem to think anyone has the right to attack him. He says he doesn't like personal attacks, but the attack he made on the player was personal in the language used.

He's not an idiot. He does this all the time to get the response he got. He knows how I feel about it, and I'll leave it at that. There are ways to be critical of a player without being abrasive at the same time. Perhaps my sense of civility is different from others. But I believe that if you speak in a respectful way, you'll be respected regardless of your opinion. And, I will admit to losing it a few times myself. But I've always regreted doing so.

Also, I think the mods are pretty tolerant on this fourm. And there is usually a warning before the hammer falls. I know, I've been warned in the past. So if you been warned, and then get banned or put on probation, you don't have anyone to blame but yourself.

If a poster criticizes a player for something and you disagree then argue against what they say. In cases of "player X sucks", this is hard to do. I would just ask the person to quantify why and break down the reasons for their complaint.

There is a bit too much responding to criticism of a player by attacking the poster who criticized. Fanaticism is fanaticism, but you can still argue directly against the fanatic's text or just point out that they really said nothing at all.

When I was younger, I used to get all pissy about internet forum rules as well.

Now that I'm a little older, I realize that without them, you get boards like the 49er forum that I used to really like. It went from a board like this one where people talked about football all day, to a forum over ran by kiddie's who just use forum cliche's all day. If you make a post about something, the first few responses are always "In b4 mods", "facepalm", "welcome to last week", "oh" etc.

No one wants this place to turn out like that.

I agree 150%

omg I thought we got some new awesome player, Kumbaya. Instead I read about some dude's personal problems on my favorite Kings forum... now I've got a problem! Are we glorifying the irony of the embarassing attempts by the OP to be less embarassing? lol

I think everyone needs to GET OVER IT! This is an internet forum about Kings players. We are here to love the players, bash the players, have opinions on the players, etc. They are public figures and make millions of dollars playing a GAME. Why is everybody acting like little sissies about a poster who bashed a player, who, by the way, has been TERRIBLE this year so far? If you don't like the poster or what he has to say you have options! Don't READ his post, IGNORE the user so you don't ever see his posts again, etc. but there is no need to cry like a little baby about it!

This is one of the reasons our country is falling apart! We are so worried about hurting somebody's feelings! GET OVER IT already!

Oh, and, in before I get an "infraction" from the mods for this rant!
