I'm guessing thomas booth and gooden on the inactive list for now and than when gooden is healthy u put simmons or solomon on there. Booth has been hurt all year so odds are he won't play at all for us.

Before the Solomon deal, I figured you start Nocioni since you've got a glut of forwards and would need Garcia's ballhandling off the bench. But now, if we choose to use him, we do have a solid enough back up PG. And with McCants now in town, maybe he can get some minutes at PG now, too? Not sure here. I do think we could use Nocioni's rebounding at the 3, and he can still at least shoot.
Will be interesting to see how Natt sorts all this out. While I think the team will play harder and be more fun to watch, I worry that his rotations remain frustrating. As long as Gooden doesn't come back and start over Hawes or JT, however, I'll live.

Personally, I will be super pissed if Gooden starts when he gets healthy. They just dumped Miller, and Hawes deserves the time at center. JT has developed, and needs more time to become a better player. He still has major flaws in his game that needs to be worked out, and sitting on the bench isn't going to change that. The only possible reason why Kenny would start Gooden is if GP wants to re-sign him. We know GP likes Gooden, and if GP likes somebody, there isn't much that keeps him from pursuing him.

no point in giving gooden starting nod unless he gets limited minutes.. just to start then let JT get the bulk. it would be plain stupid to give him alot of minutes because hes going to be here for a whole 2 months then his contract expires. if anything we should be playing the young guys in the trade to see what they can do. maybe another team will give us a pick if they shine or we can sign them to cheap contracts.

whats funny is that i wanted a lot of these players when they came out of college: gooden, diogu, nocioni after his rookie season, even slightly richard mccants after his championship season. Now, i could really care less, but at least the team is younger and fresher. I was hyped after hearing nocioni's name, but after a lot of people talked him down it almost changed my mind. But im excited to see what he can do, and its cool that we have a lot of good sized guys in the form of athletic power forwards, the kings were lacking in size for a while.

Well Noc can still play and should help give us a little strength at SF rather than all these scrawny guards we've had running around -- think its his contract more thanh his game that has most people worried. But we actually got smaller up front through these various trades, trading/waiving two 7 footers (Brad/Mikki) and Shelden, and getting back a pack of mid/undersized PFs and Calvin Booth, who will likely never play. I don't think it matters much because its only for the last couple of months, but Hawes is the only legit 7 footer we have left.

Yeah, I'd probably agree with this one.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing Nocioni be a 30 minute guy, putting up 13/6, as long as he plays the SF position and isn't used as a big guy. He can shoot, he's a reasonable capable ball handler and passer, and he has a reputation of being a decent defender.
He does have a terrible contract, but he's the guy that we should be showcasing as a player who can contribute on a playoff team, so that we can move that contract next season.

My hope is that all of Petrie's moves around the deadline, including waiving Mikki, signals that we are commited to our younger players. Considering that Gooden is a free agent at the end of the year and we do not need to showcase him, I am hopeful that Natt get's the message to start and give the minutes to the young players. Shoot. Gooden may even get bought out.

The Atlanta game was fun. Without Miller mailing it in or Salmons ball hoging, we actually had more ball movement and everyone was trying. I am hoping the new guys who are mostly young or in Noc's case he is a scrapper, build on that energy.
