New Question: Why make a move now?

When should the Kings make a move/trade?

Well in part two of the interview with Joe Maloof on SCSRT, he said they (Geoff and his staff) are actively looking around the league for a PG to back up Mike, and for a big shotblocker to protect the paint! YES! He mentioned how we got killed on penetration last year.

Isn't it nice when they see what all of us do? We definately need a good backup PG and Center/PF who is a good shotblocker (why cannot we get Alonzo)? That guy was awesome tonight any other time I saw him. Now that's he's won the whole thing, maybe he can bring one here to Sacto. :D

If we threw him the full MLE for 2 years he might come play for us but I doubt he would....he would be awesome to get though...

If they didn't see that then they would be blind. Our faults are very visible and correctable.

I don't know about Alonzo, I wouldn't mind him but that is a lot of money. I don't know if I would trust him or his health.

Wouldn't be surprised if Zo retires or stays with the Heat for cheap... I don't think he's a real option for many teams.

Good to hear that once again about Petrie and his staff looking for what we need.

I thought we had the personnel to play more defensivly

His hypocricy at times can be quite staggering.

For the record, I do agree about the need of a shotblocker/low post defender and a back up PG.

Uh...we did and do. If you don't agree look at our defensive stats at the beginning of the season and the stats towards the end of the season. Towards the end we were a top 10 defensive team. He just mentioned the obvious, we have no interior D. Great perimeter D, some of the best in the league, nut ZERO inside. Simple as that.

How is he being hyporcritical by saying they want what every fan knows this team needs.

I trust Petrie in getting some interior D. We've always had a defensive big or two.

Pollard/Clark/Ostertag (intended, but didn't work out)/Skinner (worked out for a month 1/2, then only sometimes the following season). Since? None, unless you count Pota, but he obviously wasn't gonna play much and isn't going to be a main guy for us in the future. Sampson, similar.

He is being hypocritical by now saying that we need defensive help when not that long ago (after Adelman's firing in fact) he said on KHTK that we have the personnel and that a defensive coach would bring the best out of them. He was specifically asked whether it was a matter of personnel with our lack of interior defence and his answer was flat out no. Thats whats hypocritical. He comes up with a story to suit the occasion.

According to the same Joe Maloof, only about a month ago, it was not the personnel issue when it comes to our interior defensive woes only to come out now and pretty much admit the opposite. That is hypocritical
