PF: Kirilenko/KT/Doleac
C: Hawes/ Ratlif

Ratliff, Williams and Doleac off the books after next year. This is a team that can go big or small easily but pretty much will always be able to run like Reggie wants. The only low post scorer is Hawes so it puts a lot of pressure on the kid, but there are money and draft choices to get him some low post backup after this year. You can definitely create a lot of matchup problems with this team and could even go scary big with garcia/martin/kirilenko/hawes/ratliff at times.

Oh, there's thoguhts there. But we wouldn't be able to rebound the ball, at all. And JWill would obviously start at PG -- Cisco is versatile but he has shown no ability to bring it up against smaller/quicker people.

Yeah, an athletic shotblocking big who doesn't care about dominating the ball on offense is exactly what we don't need.

I didnt say we dont need him now did I? I said i cant stand him, we could sure use Kobe but that doesnt mean i want him here, there is a difference.

And J-Will starting at PG is my worst nightmare. Talk about going backwards. Jason's knees are in bad shape, from what has been said, and he's ... well ... old. If we're rebuilding we have to go young. I remember #55 with a lot of fondness but that player doesn't exist any longer. He would be a mere caricature of his old self and that would not be pretty ... or fun to watch. Commit to going young with the exception hopefully of a premiere player and stick to it.

We've wallowed long enough. Blow up the clown.

Jwill is on that team as an ender not as a viable player he's in the trades specifically to blow up the clown

My comment specficially referenced Brick's post, which said "JWill would obviously start at PG..."

I agree that would most likely be the case and that doesn't do us any good whatsoever. If you're gonna blow up the clown you don't bring back the hat before you do so.

I was thinking about the whole "Hawes" pick for the last few days, and reading pretty much everythign that has to do withthe Kings. For a guy like Jason Williams to be on the Kings again is the same thing as picking an unathletic C when we immediatlely need an athlete/rebounder.. Jason Williams pickup is to clear cap space and that is it. Next year is not going to be pretty..

Hawes is not meant to solve any "here/now" problems. Hawes is here for the rebuild. Hawes will not be an asset to this team until Miller/Bibby/Artest are all gone.

Two years down the road the only players I expect to be on this team from this years squad are;

Hawes, Garcia, Martin, Salmons, Justin Williams, and Douby..

I bet w/in two years we will have the highest amount of free throws attempted in the league. Martin and Garcia draw about 10-12 FT a game on their own.

No, it's not the same thing, Gary. If we bring Williams as a ender contract, that's one thing. BUT if we bring him and start him, giving him the majority of minutes, that doesn't help our kids at all. That was my point.

hopefully they are the ones here :) it's time to pick up some enders and suck really bad next year to get a high lotto pick to speed up the rebuild. if we tried to rebuild last summer, we could have pulled some good offers. our assets were at a all time high last summer with artest kicking *** in the playoffs, bibby lighting it up and brad playing solid.

And if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

;)

We didn't try to rebuild last summer. We finally have what appears to be a commitment to the rebuilding process by the owners, so I think we can look forward to a slow but steady progression out of the cellar.

And I personally think people have to forget about the "speed up the rebuild" process. While it might happen, we can't rely on that as Memphis learned this year.

We're going to have a couple of tough years. It's gonna take a while to get out from under the albatross salaries of a couple of players left over from the run at the title.

Kirilenko is Utah's Mike Bibby. he's got a massive contract and after a horrible year people think he's overpaid. the big difference? Bibby bounces back and gives us extra scoring. AK47 bounces back he gives Utah a little extra scoring, extra rebounding, extra blocks, and extra steals.

i'd take AK in a heartbeat if we weren't rebuilding. if our rebuild goes a lot smoother and we have a team of primarily youngsters within two years, he'd be good to have. but all indications are that this rebuild will take awhile, which would waste a lot of AK's prime

we'll see about that "commitment" at the beginning of the season.. i have to disagree with the memphis example. memphis was in a better position to upgrade their team through the draft than us. we fumbled and tumbled through the season without making any strong commitment to the lottery or playoffs therefore shooting ourselves in the foot for the draft. this all happened even when we were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.. even though memphis tanked and did not win the first 3 picks, they had better draft position to pick through the draft pool than us. this allows them to pick a better player to speed up their rebuilding process where we were left w/ players that we really didn't want.

Players that we really didn't want? Sorry, but I don't agree. (Big shock, I know...)

Once again, you're missing my point entirely. I'll try again -

Although looking forward to next year's draft is one way to plot a rebuild, it's fraught with the unknown. Memphis was counting on being bad enough to get either Durant and Oden. And that didn't work out. Period.

We're going to have a rough road ahead. If you don't believe the Maloofs are committed to rebuilding, that's your choice. And that's fine. Since neither of us knows for sure, I guess I'm just going by the preponderous of evidence such as their statements, Petrie's statements, Reggie's statements, etc. You are going on simply not trusting them. Bottom line is that only time will truly tell...

point taken. everybody knows its the lottery and its not guaranteed you will land the top 3 picks even though you have the worst record. however, i still fail to see how memphis lost out? so what if they didn't get durant or oden? it isn't the end of the world if they did get either player. they still were bad enough to get in position and be able to pick through a number of talented players at the top of the draft. correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't it takes talented players to eventually get out of that cellar?

>Players that we really didn't want? Sorry, but I don't agree. (Big shock, I know...)

based on the style of play the kings were looking for this upcoming season, i don't see how our great pick (hawes) fits that. we were looking to get up and down and play more defense. scouting reports shows he doesn't fit that description of the style of play! i don't see ppl on this board, radio thrilled about this selection. so does that mean he was wanted? more like settled on him since the guys we wanted went earlier in the draft.

until moves are made, i won't believe what they are saying. there is too much uncertainty with this team.
