New Interview: Tyreke's brothers

Hall of Famer
I know we have other Reke threads, but I didn't think this belonged in them. This is an interview from earlier today I think, or yesterday, with both Reke's brothers talking about maturity, injury, his shot, and hiring the shooting coach. Appears Reke was going to work with the shooting coach, but given how poor his shot had gotten they decided to bring him out now, during the long home stand.

I listen to this interview and ask myself: Would you want these guys to manage your basketball career?

Answer: NO FREAKING WAY

Schedule this, planning that, looking for time here and there... blah blah. Not exactly take charge types, are they? Very weak. The guy needs a shooting coach he can count on - every day. Not this here one day, gone to do a camp another. I'd settle for for an assistant coach for the season every day, then hire someone to help him every day during the offseason.

Agree with the two posts above mine. It's actually very encouraging that Tyreke's brothers are so supportive of him. Interview actually put my mind at ease a little about them, as I'd never heard them speak before and was very skeptical given the whole music thing they do (maybe it was a different brother, not sure). But the guys clearly care about Tyreke and his improvement as a player, which is obviously a good thing. Now, clearly they aren't the guys to be doing the training or giving the advice - that should be left to the professionals - but it's a little strange to try and twist their concern into a negative.

I didn't get that impression at all, although previously I had been worried they were messing things up.

What I like most about it was how much they clearly recognized the problem. They seemed to be saying... "yes yes of course, we know, we know, Reke knows)

Also, I really do believe about the scheduling thing. The dude he got really is a high profile very successful shooting coach. To us, Reke seems like he should get whatever he needs, immediately. In reality, he's just another NBA player asking for this guy's services... to literally drop everything else he's got going on and move out to Sac for three weeks. Damn right there will be some scheduling things to work out. How much do you think they're paying him? I wouldn't be surprised if it was around 30 grand for this three week blitz camp.

Do you have a brother?

Maybe they arent the most qualified managers, but they know him better than any traditional manager ever could, and i would assume that they are also likely his harshest critics and theyre brutally honest when needed. They arent gonna hold anything back, not gonna sugar coat anything for little brother.
