NBA Summer League

I didn't see a thread for this, so I figured I would start one. I wanted to mention Trey Burke (someone that many people considered for the 7th pick) and his struggles. Yes I know it's summer league, but he has been shooting 6-27 and has had difficulty finishing in the paint. Perhaps the concern that he isn't quick enough/small may have had some merit after all?

On the flip side, Oladipo has been playing well and Olynyk has been quite impressive.

I haven't been able to watch any of the Orlando games, but I've been box score watching and Andre Drummond has been beasting in the 2 games he's played. First game he had 6 blocks or something like that. Sigh...Kid is still only 19.

In Trey Burke's first game, he had a lot of wide open shots that he just missed. Even most of his shots in the paint were makeable. I think he was just trying too hard and made things harder than they had to be. He played much better in today's game.

Olynyk looka like dirk in SL lol.

I think that Boston got a good player in Olynyk. I liked him in college, but think he gets a little of a bum rap because he looks like a tall ungangly white guy. So naturally, he can't be athletic and much be soft. He is a very skilled player who should be around for many years IMO.

Another player who has really been struggling is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. I know he played better today, but he has been having trouble making any kind of a shot. And the result is that he hasn't done much of anything else either.

Yea I noticed that too. I'm not going to say I follow summer league intently, but I keep myself updated and one of the bigger topics are his struggles. It may not necessarily mean anything, but could be something to keep an eye on. In terms of Burke, I didn't watch either game (just the highlights), but 6-27 is pretty bad, especially for someone who is considered to be a good shooter. Perhaps its nervousness combined with trying too hard. He shot 5-15 today if I recall correctly, which is better than his 1-12 the first time around!

I got the NBA Summer League App for my phone (free). I can follow live boxscores and see highlights. If I was willing to pay $14.99, I could watch the games but I can't see paying that when I can just DVR them on NBATV.

You lucky people. I don't have NBA TV. :(

I m really upset right now. I purchased the Summer League Live-Package to follow Ben Mclemore and the other Draftees. Right now i m not able to login using my PC, cause the message occurs "We're sorry, but you don't currently have access to Summer League Live. Subscribe now."
I can watch the games using the Android app, so there seems to be no problem with my subscription, but a technical problem with the login.
I already subscribed a ticket at the NBA-support-website but after 3 days the ticket is still not adressed and summer league might be over, till the NBA-Support realizes my problem at all.
Anyone has the same problems and figured out a solution yet? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

I wouldnt of minded KCP in the draft, I think he'll have as good of a career as Mclemore.

I remember facing similar issues last year. they kinda resolved themselves once Vegas SL started, but it still was a pain. and that customer support is useless. as great as the league pass is for us internationals, if you ever run into any real trouble, you're basically screwed. I'd still recommend writing tons of tickets, maybe at some point they'll be annoyed enough to do something about it. otherwise, revisit your sins, pray for deliverance and never purchase an SL pass again (it's what I did / resolved to do last year).

Vegas summer league starts7/12, but Kings first game is Saturday.

Just decided to go to Las Vegas. Will arrive Friday night and leave 7/17. So will see 3 Kings games. My brother is going with me. :)

We (KF) were able to Bajaden media credentials this year so he'll be covering the action. Be sure and look for him, CruzDude and UNcia03. You're all gonna have fun!

Look forward to seeing you there.

My wife and I are always in the same spots.

Cox Pavilian (Smaller court): Left-hand side of the Gym, Mid-court usually 12-14 rows up
Thomas & Mac (Larger court): Right-hand side of Gym, Mid-Court, usually a couple rows up past the first rail. (The seats below 1st rail are a different color)

We are actually leaving in about 12 hours to get there.

This is my favorite week of the year...and I'm excited to see both our young players as well as all the young players who will be working hard in the next week or two.

Well, I'll have a 6'5" bearded guy (bro) with me. Staying at Hooters, which is where bajaden and cruzdude are staying. This will be my first time and I can't wait!. :)

That Hooters place isn't to get so worked up about. ;)

Actually, when my wife and I have been to Vegas we stay right next to the Hooters at the Desert Rose Las Vegas Resort. We got some free play at the Hooters one time and ventured in there. Didn't win anything, but my wife didn't want to spend any more time in there than she had to. :D

So so so true. I miss the days when they had live chat support. And they keep increasing the price of LP every single year by like 30%.

As long as the bed is comfy and the room is clean, I'll be okay. I don't plan on spending much time in the room or even at Hooters in general.

Got a good price with a guarantee that we'd get exactly the type of room we wanted. So many of the other deals said they will take your room preferences into consideration, but at such low sales rates, they would not guarantee you'd' get your preference.

Just giving you a bad time. Wish I could be there with you guys. Stuck at work 7 days a week right now and working >12 hours most days. Yuck.

They also have a good passing point guard in Phil Pressey. Hopefully some NBA coaching and a little maturity will be all he needs to make the most of his freakish talents. So far in summer league, he's looking great.

As a Mizzou guy I've been rooting for him, but for all his talents he can be an exercise in boneheadedness. He can take your team down to the wire in a game no one gave you a chance to win, and then blow the win at the last second with a stupid mistake. Last year, Mizzou Tigers frequently lamented "You live by the Phil and you die by the Phil." A little experience and maturity should be his friend, and Boston will end up with an absolute steal.

Pressey has already had more than a few of those "moments" during summer league. Several of the people I follow on twitter have been befuddled trying to figure out where some of his passes were supposed to go, but you can't deny he has talent.

Anyone see Portland's first game last night? McCollum was impressive. Much quicker and more athletic than I thought he was. He could be a good player!

Mccollum might be the player in this draft-class, many teams regret, that they didnt pick him. Wonder how he will fit into the Blazers roster, but he will give them a viable bench-scorer and some much needed depth.

Schröder really impressed me. Very agressive defender and a true PG always looking for his teammates and capable of running an offense.
