edit 6/5/15
The NBA Summer League will run from Friday, 10 July through Monday, 20 July 2015.

As of 5 June the schedule has not been released but quite possible Kings begin play the first day, Friday 7/10.

There is also a Sports Management conference in Las Vegas on 17-18 July with all sorts of NBA types, agents, scouts, sports management gurus and NBA personnel. It will take about 6 days to get 3 games in for each of 22 NBA teams before the tournament style play begins on 17th.

UPDATE 11 May 2015
Have input from UNLV housing that student housing, 2-4 double rooms sharing a bathroom, can rent us rooms AS A GROUP for $27+ a night for the week of Summer League. But would need someone to organize a group of 6-10-15 folk. Double rooms could be a couple. Let me know if this is an economical option for you. Quiet, 2 blocks from arena on campus, many lo cost eateries one block east and a supermarket 1-2 blocks away.

UPDATE 16 JUNE
The Summer League schedule was published today. Kings:

FRI 7/10: Kings-Raptors, 3:30p @Thomas & Mack
SUN 7/12: Kings-Nuggets, 5p, @Cox Pavilion
MON 7/13: Kings-Warriors, 3:30p, @Thomas & Mack
TUE 7/14: All 24 teams are seeded 1-24 based on record and points. Seeds 1-8 have Wednesday off while teams seeded 9-24 have to play 8 games on Wednesday to decide who will play the 1-8 seeds on Thursday 7/16
WED 7/15: Seeds 9 thru 24 play 8 games
THU 7/16: Seeds 1-8 play the 8 winners from Wednesday
So, as long as Kings end up seeded 9th or lower, we can see them play on Wednesday.

Looks like they're starting it on a Saturday this year instead of a Friday. Why they gotta cramp my style like that?

Edit: The originally-published dates were not correct. The Vegas Summer League does start on Friday after all.

Just as a followup regarding the dates...

The above site is not the official NBA site, and the official NBA site has no listing as of yet. It appears that there is a Vegas Sports Career Conference that has scheduled attendance of the quarterfinals on a Saturday, which would line the VSL up with the days of the week the same as last year. So the dates might actually be the 10th-20th. Stay tuned for an official NBA announcement one way or the other before making those travel plans!

You going in early this year, or coming later like last year. I don't think your were there for the first couple of games were you. Maybe it was just the first one. Anyway, I'm sure we'll meet up again...

Capt. is correct, not official but plus-minus a day seems about right. Making reservations now as its easy to move them a day or so either way as town is quite slow in July. Here is my take on what could be a summer league lineup for Kings: Stockton PG (RayMac off bench), Ben SG, Nik SF (point forward!), Eric Moreland PF and draft choice in middle (Willy I think). Plus FA's etc

Last year I made the mistake of not buying my tickets in advance and I got caught in the huge line opening up the first day. I came for the first five days, so the entire round robin and then left before the "playoffs" started.

I *hope* to make it this year. I'm not sure that my buddy can swing it this time, which complicates matters a bit financially. I think there will be a really nice crop of kids this year though.

I was probably standing in line with you on the first day. It was hotter than blazes. I'm buying my tickets in advance this year. Hope to see you there. It's always a fun time. First beer is on me. Hope that helps financially.

Just booked bajaden and I into La Quinta Inn on Paradise Rd a short walk north of Thomas & Mack. Good reviews but inexpensive and no stinking resort fee to get free WiFi plus refrig and microwave in every room.

The official dates do appear to be July 10-20, with the original web announcement being a typo. I've updated the thread title to reflect this.

So summer league being official to run 10-20 July in Las Vegas. Bet some of the pre-draft workouts will yield a couple of summer league guys. Draft only 20 days away now and summer league only 35 days away. bajaden and I will stay at Hyatt Place across the street from Thomas&Mack AND sharing a parking lot with the Hofbrauhaus, a giant beer hall with German UmmPah music.

It looks like the league got a lot smarter (or at least changed philosophies) on scheduling this year.

Last year most of the marquee draws (e.g. Wiggins, Parker, Randle) spent most if not all of their time playing in Cox. While this did ensure a big crowd for the TV cameras, it also meant that for many of these games the arena was over-full and if you left (or came at tip-off time) you'd have to wait for somebody to leave to get in. In order to make sure you saw the big players, you'd have to get there at least one game early. Additionally, the completely full house was more than the air conditioning in Cox could quite handle, so it was hot in there.

This year the projected marquee draws are being put into Thomas and Mack, which has probably four times the seating of Cox. The teams holding the #1-#4 picks (Minny, Lakers, Philly, Knicks) play all of their first three games in T&M and the Kings (#6) play two of three in there (Orlando at #5 is not coming to Vegas). This is pretty important as the Lakers fans will probably show up in large numbers to watch the #2 pick and if you thought that Cox was chaos for the Randle games last year, this year would have been unimaginable. Interestingly the Jazz, who had a very large fan contingent last year (and I understand this has been a trend) also have all three of their games in T&M despite being down at the #12 pick.

This actually alleviates some of my concerns about increasing crowds. Moving the big draws into T&M should make for a more pleasant experience this year.

All right, boys and girls, the good news has come through and I am in. Looks like the first four days, then I'll have to get back, but the schedule is a bit light on day 5 anyway.

Cruz, just let me know if you need me to help wrassle Baja's gurney around!
