Monk has been low key a quality addition for the Lakers. Shooting 40% from 3. 47% from the field. He doesn't defend at all but if you are a contender and you are watching him, he would provide solid bench scoring

I don't even think it's low key anymore, he's been carrying them offensively whenever Lebron needs a breather. Without Melo and Monk that team might be as bad as we are at this point in the season.

strange how he didn't have much interest around the league prior to the season, he showed flashes in Charlotte but just wasn't getting consistent playing time.

I respect that Russ is always unapologetic about being himself. Sure he's been a terrible NBA player this season but he's also making $44 million regardless of whether the coach benches him or not. Go ahead and boo me all game for that kind of money, I'd be smiling through it too. For a guy who was ranked 151st in his high school class to finish his career with 9 All Star appearances and an MVP award, he's got nothing to apologize for.
I feel like it is absolutely telling that the only basketball player Rick Carlisle hasn't managed to make look awful in the last five years is Luka. Good luck with that Tyrese.
"The natural instinct is to be conspiratorial about a new injury designation 24 hours before the trade deadline, but ain't no one wants to pay Russ $47M next year. Ain't no one."
