I mean, considering how bad the T-Wolves looked when all three of their “stars” were on the floor at the same time, can you really blame them?
No. Not at all. And I'm thinking the return on a potential Rudy Gobert package plummeted in the last few months, so Towns it is. I just thought we had a couple of weeks before the action was going to start.

Who would even be able to match salary?

I guess he is “only” getting 36 mil this year so that’s more doable. Yeh they have to trade him this year before the extension kicks in.

while I'm not going to diagnose Conor, mental illness especially for combat fighters is two fold than any other sport other than perhaps football with the headshots and beatings they take. It's an unfortunate but unsurprising turn of events however.

saw that Toronto has hired what I expect is the first NBA Serbian head coach? Jokic winning two MVPs and possibly a NBA ship tomorrow has apparently put Serbian personnel on the map now, great to see the diversity in the NBA

Djokovic won Grand slam #23. Could this week turn out to be the best week in Serbian sport history?

Rade Opacic earned himself a Heavy Weight Kickboxing world title fight as well (could eventually be the first ever I think on a professional level in HW KB). If Jokic wins it imo he's the GOAT Serb sportsmen, even though Novak has won more I think the competition between tennis/basketball is completely different, to me basketball is all freaks when you come to the NBA where as tennis not so much plus far less people play i think.

Most Serbs would disagree with my take most think the tennis Joker is the GOAT.

As much as I like Jokic, I would have to agree with your fellow countrymen.

Would Jokic be in the GOAT conversation with MJ by the end of his career? Even considering only centers, I would rate Kareem, Hakeem, Wilt or even Shaq higher at this point of time. Jokic has some ways to go before he can even get into the GOAT conversation in his sport.

Djokovic is firmly ahead in the GOAT conversation in his sport. Dude has won Grand Slams on different kind of surfaces multiple times. Probably the only guy in history that can beat Nadal on clay court and Federer on grass court. Maintaining excellence and longevity in a grueling individual sport is just insane.

would be hilarious if the Wizards ended up trading Beal for Dame
I just don't know what would be a reasonable package for him. 57, 60, 40, 50 games in his last 4 years and has shown a pretty noticeable drop-off in his production the last 2 seasons. Heading into his age 30 season with FOUR more years on his mega contract at roughly 50 mil/season.

Honestly, the only deal I'd probably do is if he's for free. Even then... eh. I'm certainly not dealing Keegan, I'm not dealing Davion, I'm not dealing an future FRP and I think Huerter+Monk as a combo is significantly more valuable, significantly less risk and far cheaper in terms of $$$

Agreed. Not what we need. I’m still firmly on the Jaylen Brown bandwagon myself, if we were hellbent on getting another star. Checks off many boxes, but asking price would be astronomical.

As often happens with poorly-managed teams, the Wizards waited too long to consider shopping Beale. Now he's a seriously diminished asset due to a consistent pattern of injury-related absence. They might be able to scoop up a middling first rounder from a playoff-caliber team who can envision Beale as the piece that gets them over the hump, even with his injury history. I'm just hoping that team isn't the Kings!

With 4 years and $207 million on his contract Washington is not getting a star in return for Bradley Beal. They're getting a ton of salary filler and maybe some late first round picks. Pretty ironic that the Wizards finally get out from under the John Wall-Russell Westbrook albatross contract and immediately put themselves in salary jail again.

Beal for Ben Simmons. Ha…

The more that I think about it - I’d be ok with replacing Barnes in the starting lineup with Kyle Kuzma.
