Unfortuneately for Ellis, being teamed up with 3 super mega stars to pad your assist's and open up the lane for easy baskets gets you in the all star game... not actually playing like an allstar.
Even if the all-star game is about the "impact you have on your team", I would still take Chanuncy Billups over Rondo any day of the week.

It sucks that Pau Gasol got in and Kaman didn't. What Kaman feared actually happens... Pau taking away his center reserve spot.
Pau plays power forward on the lakers, forget about the fact that he "can" play center. Bynum is the center on the lakers and he didn't get it. I guess its expected that they wouldn't leave the lakers with only 1 all star.
But the Cavs only have 1 all star also and they have the best record overall. Is Pau a good player? YES. Does he deserve it over Chris Kaman (a true center playing center on his team) considering he only played 25 games or so? NO

I'm pretty sure I don't need my head examined. The only reason you think he deserved it last year was because of his impressive playoff showing. Other than that season Averages of 11-8-5 doesn't make him an allstar in my mind. If the Celts had won the championship last year, Rondo would deserve the Playoff MVP, Ill give him that. When KG, Allen, and Pierce leave and he still puts up those numbers game in and out... i'll think twice.

What they should do on the ballot is specify "big men," "swing men," and "point guards," and that would even the voting out a bit. That way Chris Paul and Brandon Roy aren't competing with each other for votes, and you don't have Tim Duncan, Amare Stoudemire and Yao Ming starting together.

Actually from what I've seen from mock all star reserve picks from all media outlets, they pick 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center and 2 misc. Thats how I always understood it also. Or else there would've been yrs where the team would be mostly guards if they're just picking the best players.
Thats why for example in the west reserves
Guards (CP3, Roy)
Forwards (Dirk, Durant)
Center (***Pau Gasol***) <not real center and was a power forward on the ballot
MISC (Zack Randolph PF + D Will PG)
Every year it always ends up 2 forwards, 2 guards, 1 center + 2 misc.
I mean people can always argue that it wasn't Pau that took the center spot but instead Randolph or Durant took it. But come on... do anyone from the reserves other than Pau plays center ever?

rondo is awesome... pau is a really good player but kaman deserved to be there, just because he can play ceneter doesnt make pau more deserving of that spot over kaman who actually is a center. it wasnt a balance thing because duncan and amare can play center... the west technically has 5 power forwards, duncan, amare, randolph, dirk and pau...

David Lee and Chris Kaman got screwed. Other than that I have no problem with the selections. Gasol shouldn't be there though. Rondo is a great player, half of his game is playing really good defense and being a good rebounding guard and he also creates a lot of open shots on his own. He's a great player IMO. Definitely an all star reserve.

I respectfully disagree. As of now, Chris Paul is in a league of his own. Deron Williams is still a ways lower, and he is exceptionally better than Rondo. If I had to rank the best PGs of the future, I'd even say Derrick Rose will be much better than Rondo. I honestly think Rondo has reached close to his peak of awesome. If he can keep this up once the big three are gone, I might change my mind.
Wow, Rondo is a beast. Dude does it all. He's not far from being the best PG in basketball. Paul is not in a league of his own, that's total crap. I love the kid but if I had to choose between him and Dwill I'd probably take Dwill. I think he plays a little harder and really wants it. I think all 3 of them should be in a little cluster together(they're all great and bring a different array of awesome-ness to the table)
Nobody is in CP3s class. Nobody. If he stays healthy he's probably going to end up top 10 all time and a surefire HOFer.
I really do like Rondo, but its not a comparison. Nor even DWill, who is second best the way that Horford is the second best center in the East to Dwight (okay a little closer than that).
