Mutombo!!!!

gunks

Hall of Famer
Camby has a thread, so I figured I'd make one for Mutombo....

Since Yao went out dude's been averaging 11.8 rebs and 1.8 blocks as starting C.....In under 25 minutes a game!

Not bad for a guy over 40 :D

Ever since Yao went down the whole team has been playing well not just Dike. T-mac has been playing like a MVP, J.Howard thinks he is in Washington again, batier has been great too. They just won 5 games in a row before the Minn game which they lost in over time. This team is just a better when Yao is out, instead of T-mac. But with both Yao and T-Mac healthy i think they are one of the 4 best teams in west and title contenders. They might be the future LA team with Shaq and kobe.

But back to Dike, i was reading the other day that he is 4 more blocks away from becoming the second in most block to the Dream. I hope he does it, he deserve it. And i am Glad that he is playing well.

Mutombo is such a baller. The guy can't even jump anymore and he's still getting 20/10 games. (20 rebounds, 10 points :) ) But nonetheless, he's been great lately and hopefully can keep it up until Yao gets back. Mutombo just has great fundamentals and plays smart. And he's still a great, great blocker and if he had a little more quickness, the paint would be untouchable. Boy what the Kings would do to get a guy like that. :D

Also, he's just a great person. he's always going nuts on the bench and cheering on every play. And on top of that, the guy is probably one of the biggest philanthropists in the NBA.

Hopefully Yao doesn't come back anytime soon - I just added Mutombo to my roster! :D

(not to be taken seriously - I do not wish ill upon anyone...except Kobe.)

Just had to add to this........hopefully the Kings have watched Mutombo tonight(against the Lakers) and how much a shotblocker changes a game without even blocking a shot. Guys dribble the ball around on the perimeter and don't even want to go inside for fear of being rejected. With us they would dribble around, find the seam and lay it up while Miller(insert other PF or C on our roster) simply fouls them because they can do nothing else.

I know listening to Jerry "shotblocking ios overrated" Reynolds is terrifying, but if the Kings have to watch a 40 yr old Deke to suddenly realize that shotblocking is valuable, then we are well and truly screwed and helmed by a pack of fools.

This Mutombo resurgence has been incredible this year. He completely wore down last year and then Yao goes out, and he starts averaging double-digit rebounds and owning the paint like no one in the NBA. He has been incredible and hopefully he can keep it up till Yao gets back. Man we're going to own once Yao gets back. And if Bonzi would like to show up, that would be nice too.

I <3 Deke.

More importantly, where can we get some?

How much money you got? I just got back from Houston with a package, you know what it contains.

"Dikembe Mutombo rejected five shots to move ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar into second place on the NBA's all-time blocked shots list Wednesday night."

Killed the Lakers with that D, niiiiiiiice!

I don't care what anyone else says, I refuse to acknowledge an "all time shot block leader" list that Bill Russell isn't on.

Everybody and their brother knows that, if they'd recorded that stat during Mister Russell's career, everybody'd still be looking up at his numbers... WAY up.

Your right, there are a few people that would have been way higher on that list if these things were kept track of earlier, so it is kind of unfair, but its there.

Russell, Wilt, and Kareem (who didn't get his first 4 years counted) would probably be at the top followed by everyone else who's on their right now.
