Mock draft 2026

So, I thought he actually looked really good when he was playing in that short stretch but obviously his day-to-day recovery wasn't there. Fact of it is, he's got two years on his deal. If his knee's shot, his knee's shot and we move on. But we have two years to figure out if it's shot or if he can still contribute. I don't see any pause here, I just think we play it out and see where it goes.

You’d rather win 35 games with him the next two year instead of getting assets to build around our core?

Holy crap. It is the Luka narrative all over again.

He's going to be the best value pick in this draft. It's not that Wilson or Flemings aren't deserving of going higher, but I think we're seeing the narrative play out where we only nit-pick the slight deficiencies in his game and ignore the overwhelming evidence he's awesome. While just dreaming of the pure upside Wilson and others can bring because their athletic profiles are through the roof.

We just need to hope that we can land Dybansta and not have to worry about much else. The guy fits next to pretty much anyone. There's no questions about his health or mental toughness. Athleticism is there. Ability to defend. #1 option potential. The only question mark is whether he's going to be able to shoot the 3 in the NBA, but he's sitting at 36% right now. It's really a no brainer if the Kings are in position.

Man, I generally appreciate Bobby’s basketball takes but anyone who ranks Mikel Brown as the 31st best player in this class shouldn’t be taken seriously. (Although as a fan of the team that’s probably gonna have the 31st pick in the draft I’d be ecstatic)

It does warrant some kind of explanation. He had Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud ranked 12th and 15th overall respectively in last year's class, and also recently ranked Killian Hayes #1 for G-League prospects so his rankings may be relevant to project which direction our front office might be leaning. Or it could just be a complete coincidence. AJ Dybantsa ranked 4th is also eyebrow-raising given he seems to be settling in closer to the consensus #1.

This is going to be a wonky draft beyond 4-6. Good, the Kings might end up getting another legit first round level talent in the 2nd round.

Dash Daniels is also sliding with most mocks placing him in the middle of the second round after he started the season projected to go in the late lottery. He's scored in double figures just once in 35 games in the NBL and has gotten his minutes cut recently. Maybe he'll stay another year and try to raise his stock but I could also see him staying in the draft anyway and moving over to the G-League where he'll likely be handed a larger role than what he has now.

Yeah, he'd be a great get in the 2nd round.

Not a great showcase of top draft picks in the Kansas/Houston game so far but yeah no way is Flemings the next De'Aaron Fox. Fox even as a skinny 18 year old was way more physical. Flemings has good potential and gets his but in a very finesse, in the flow and without pushing a defense kind of way. I'd take Wagler over him at this point without much thought.

Hear you. But I appreciate draft experts that trust their gut and don’t just do “consensus with a twist”. Plus, I’m pretty certain Bobby is actually watching the games.

When I’ve watched AJ - I’ve noticed a lack of physicality compared to the others “top 4”.

The only thing true about the NBA Draft is that everybody is going to be wrong about something.
