Mock draft 2026

To be fair, Edwards spent his entire year at Georgia doing his best impression of a dude that gave zero craps. Scared me off.

The Peterson thing seems to be injury-related, not motivational. I could be wrong, of course, but he does seem to be engaged in the game when he's playing.

Continued that during pre draft as well

There were early whispers he has a super involved family. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing I don’t know. Is this Coach Yogurt? Uncle Dennis? Or just a great family doing what’s in the best interest of Peterson regardless of how it may look?

I’m under the assumption we fall to five and am looking at who between Wilson, Wagler and Flemings we target assuming 2 of 3 are available.

If the clippers get the pacers pick at five I wonder if a deal could be made for that pick. They’re playing great basketball and Kawhi looks elite again and they don’t have a center.

Something like Sabonis, Carter, ‘27 spurs first, and ‘31 Timberwolves first. A lot to give up but two top five picks in this draft would give us an exciting core

I'm not convinced that we have anything to offer the Clippers in that situation that the Clippers would be willing to entertain.

They don’t have a center and I don’t think there going full rebuild I think Sabonis and multiple firsts is a compelling offer. I would even do unprotected firsts to pair flemming with any of the top four guys

I like where you are going with this but that is a HUGE haul. Maybe take out the '31 Timberwolves first since that is unprotected

If the Clippers end up with the #5 overall pick and they'd prefer to trade it, they'll probably find a better deal than what we can offer them. If Chicago is interested in Domas to pair him with fellow Lithuanian Matas Buzelis they might be willing to give up their pick in the #10-15 range which we could use to target a PG (Philon, Acuff, Stirtz). The Bulls just traded into a bunch of expiring contracts though so it would be a challenge to match Sabonis' $45.4 million salary with what they have left on the payroll for next season. We'd for sure have to take back the 3 years at $18 million per left on Patrick Williams' contract and probably get a third team involved.

I’m giving up whatever is necessary to pair Flemming a with the top four

What other all star or close to all star do you think they’d be able to get?

I agree with the bulls trade at 10 I think they flip that for Sabonis and taking back Williams shouldn’t be a hold up for us. Philon and Acuff should be available there and we need a lead guard

I don't know who specifically the Clippers would target, I just think if they put a 5th overall pick on the market and give teams enough time to outbid each other, the final price is going to be quite high. Cleveland trading Jarrett Allen has seemed likely for a couple seasons now and now that the Clippers have Darius Garland, it might make sense to reunite him with a former teammate. That would be my best guess. Allen's production has fallen off the past couple years. He's not better than Sabonis but he plays a little more of a traditional big man role.

In terms of a hypothetical Chicago trade, the trouble is even if we take Pat Williams and Isaac Okoro from Chicago that only adds up to $29.8 million so somehow they'd have to add another $15.6 million or close to it to make the deal legal. Their payroll is pretty thin on big contracts after all the expiring contracts come off their books at the end of the season. We're looking at a 4 for 1 deal just to match salary at which point Chicago would only have 6 players signed for next season. They'd have to really want Sabonis, and maybe they do. This summer's free agent class looks pretty awful-- I'd personally prefer to keep my lotto pick and lock in another cheap 4 year contract if I were in their position -- but historically that franchise tends to spend their money as soon as they get it and there was a rumor that Sabonis was on their wish list.

I don’t think Allen has that kind of value maybe they try and aim for Paolo

The bulls trade can be done easily for next years salary cap but happens on draft night they have a tone of cap space and could be done for Williams straight up

To be fair, Caleb’s best trait is that he’s a competitive psychopath

Most would say this was also Kobe's best trait, no? It's hard to imagine Kobe himself being who he was without that trait. I think that's the real point being made here. Lots of guys "look like" someone else either in body type or in skillset but that's typically not enough to ascend to the highest level of the NBA. There is a mental component that also needs to be there.
