Mock draft 2026

Heck of a game by AJ. Good to see his FT shooting coming around nicely. He can basically create his own shot anytime he wants.

Saunders didn't show it today on the offensive end, but I think he's worth a solid look in the second round. Good size at the 2, scrappy and active defender, nose for the ball. Good shooter as well.

Joshua Jefferson. He was my guy last year before returning to Iowa St and he is my guy again this year. 6’9, great passer, can handle the ball, very good defender, winner. He has a nice shooting stroke even though he has shot low 30s in his career (45 percent so far this season). Most mocks have him in the 40-50 range but he should be higher. We are likely to have 2 good second round picks. If he is there we MUST get him

Peterson just doesn’t impress me. Jay Williams said he was like Brandon Roy but I don’t see it. I dont see energy or shut down defense and offensively her does seem to play much with the ball in his hands facilitating. I put more time in maybe he has just has his worst moments when I’ve seen him. The guy from BYU and Boozer look more ready

Brandon Roy? Maybe in the sense that they can handle the ball and create but Peterson definitely has a little more mobility. Obviously for good reason considering Roy's knees weren't there long before his NBA career even started. I've seen the Anthony Edwards comps and they certainly have some merit IMO. If the Kings were somehow lucky to get any of the 3 then great.

You obviously arent watching this game.he is constantly out of position on defense. Haven’t seen him create for anyone. Only has scored off setups from other players. Definetly not Edwards. And even with bad knees Brandon Roy was much better on both ends. He can shoot set shots.

I watched his first two, he was playing out of his mind so the reality is somewhere in between most likely. He had some really solid defensive moments that I saw. Bottom line he's got all the tools and work ethic and development should take him the rest of the way if he wants it. The most significant thing that makes me wonder how dangerous he'll be is how tight he can stay to his own screener in pick and roll. He navigates around his screener in pick and roll very well which is reminiscent of Jordan. Not bad for an 18 year old.

I’ve seen Many prospects live and when you watch you can see the it factor. He just doesn’t scream star to me. Doesn’t have that high mamba mentality. Maybe it’s his injury idk.

Yeah, and that we don't know. Hopefully he can stay on the floor and get to 100 percent. For a team like Sac coming out of this next draft with that kind of upside isn't a bad thing to me. Take it and run, run, run. We know how this goes though, the Kings will probably be drafting right at the cliff where the talent level slides like mud.

He looks more like a combo guard. At least this game. I’d take him at #3 though.

The last two times they've had a top 5 pick, it's been Bagley and Murray. We will be forced to wait with bated breath again, to hear who Ranadive Ok's this next time

I'm a huge BYU fan and Saunders has had a little bit of a down year. But if you go back to their tourney run last year he was carrying the team on both ends of the floor! Good "plays hard white guy" pick honestly lol

Yeah, Saunders has honestly been more enjoyable to watch than AJ this year in the same way that watching Alex Caruso do his thing is more enjoyable than watching SGA.

I'd absolutely add Caleb Wilson as part of a Top 4, and depending on the day, Wilson might be in front of the other three. But I think any of those 4 is a potential franchise-level talent. 👍

We'll see. I'd put the others ahead of him right now and then he sits alone at 4, then the rest gets a little murky. Cross fingers for a top 4 pick for sure though.

I’ve gone back and forth on Wilson. He wasnt a very good shooter in high school and so far is a low volume poor 3 pt shooter in college. He isn’t a great ball handler and here is the weird one, Vecenie said his defense has not been very good despite the highlight plays. I have not watched a single game of his (just highlights and draft podcast listens) so I don’t have an educated opinion on him, but that does give me some pause.

He's probably the most boom bust of the top 4 although I think he's pretty safely not going to be a full bust because of his physical makeup. Maybe he's a smaller JJJ? But what is that? If he can dunk on everyone like that at the NBA level he'll be a superstar but if not, that's where the other stuff really matters at some point. They all have some type of question mark. Boozer is going invariably be being a big burly frontcourt player that mostly finishes below the rim which at some point will concern people. Is he a PF, can he play C? He still really reminds me of Domas in that sense but he can shoot, he can handle, he's got all the offensive tools. AJ Dybantsa and Peterson to me pass the eye test above all else right now. Time will tell and this is probably a draft where the big games and what these players do in them decide things. Wilson dominates in the tourney and he could find himself in the top 2.

the eye test and flourishing when facing quality opponents will be the most important to observe here
