Maurice Taylor Suspended Five Games

NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2006 -- The NBA announced today that Maurice Taylor of the Sacramento Kings has been suspended without pay for five games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program. Taylor’s suspension will begin with tomorrow night’s game between the Sacramento Kings and the Miami Heat.

And the hits just keep on coming...

Would explain the Potapenko sighting yesterday -- normally Pot (haha) wouldn't even be on the active roster.

And if you're Mo and your NBA career is already on life support, a fine maneuver. Justin Williams anyone?

Actually this may help explain the fact taht Mo has not seen the hard wood for weeks. Say what you want about the guy Mo is an experienced NBA vet and lefit big man not palying him with Brad out made no sense, and given Brad's slow reintegration there have still been times it woul make sense to play the guy.

Chances are good that the team knew before the leage and probably had to report it back to the leage, so they kept him on ice. No big loss at this point but givne what the team is paying him the opertunity cost is huge.

These numbers so far this season might also have something to do with it: ;)

Justin Williams anyone?

Please? Like many here, I'd much rather see this guy on our bench than Mo. He wasn't taking us anywhere and Justin could use some seasoning to see if he's going to be able to contribute in the NBA or not.

I don't understand why you sign a guy for even a veteran's minimum if the plan is to have him at the end of the bench. Better have a youngster who will go hard in practice and has a future. I thought that when the Kings signed Mo, they must have had some plans for him.

In light of his drug bust, looking back at the preseason, I remember being frustrated with his effort. He seemed to be moving at half speed. Maybe this 'splains it.

Oh Mo, how you have fallen...

We may have deal with that cancer named Bonzi Wells, but you've got something just as ridiculous on your hands.

It was such a mistake to sign him years ago for that ridiculous contract (thank you Isiah Thomas for taking that contract off of our hands) but man I didn't think he'd fall this low. At least he was good for a few points of jumpshots are weak hook shots.

Oh well, he tried to wreck our team and Isiah bailed us out, hopefully you'll get rid of this clown soon enough. An NBDL player is a step up from this guy who had all the physical skills but could never put it together. I mean Juwan Howard was basically keeping this guy on the bench and when that's happening, you're a bad player.

I hear you, the only logical explaination is that GP actually though Mo had something to offer and would actually play. As Brick has pointied out Mo has done nothing on the court to support that theory. Could be the drugs, could be a washed up player could be both... I wish we could dump his contract and bring in a kid who would like to play if given a chance... time will tell.

We still have a open roster spot so why not bring in Justin Williams or some other big man. We really need that, we are plain out getting exploited by our lack of size.

I hope that means I may actually get to see Pota on the floor. I know he looked like garbage in Phoenix, but for some reason I really want to see this guy get some PT. I feel that if he worked his butt off to get in shape, he should be rewarded. I dunno, that's just me.

Yes!

He's the D-league leader in double doubles (which he averages) and rebounds (14 a game, 7 offensive), 2nd in blocks (Amundson is 3rd), and 4th in efficiency.

And to all you who say "but thats d-league!"....So what? He could be signed cheap, and considering the Kings are a mediocre team shallow at the 4 and 5 spots, this is a perfect season for him to get a lot of garbage time minutes.

This was announced on News10, with - of course - the teaser first that simply said "A Kings player"...

I have to admit, I went down the list and had a couple of suspects. Mo Taylor wasn't among them because I forgot he was on the team.

:o

OMG what are we going to do for the next 5 games. How will this affect us and the rotation...... wait a second. Hasn't he been suspended the last 10 games or so. Seriously, why did we sign him. Isn't that just throwing money away.

Anyone remember this Mo Taylor? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liAOGN2J2tQ&eurl=

He was actually somewhat of an athlete back in the day but he busted his knee one year and could never do any of that stuff again. He wasn't really great before the knee issue but he just flat out sucked after that and became a jump shooter and even more lackadaisical player.
