Mo's a nonfactor offensively and Luka's the player who will lead the Kings past the lowly Warriors and Rockets. I'm drinking the kool-aid guys!!!!

my point is that I dont understand why you are not advocating drafting the Jamaican relay team with Bolt at the helm. after all, speed is extremely important in maintaing defensive integrity. When was the last time a slow footed team won anything in the NBA?

Mo can perform efficiently right away. I'd say give him the first few months to get his bearings and there will be a turning point like Fox had in the new calendar year.
Bamba is a non factor defensively and teams will go small put SG on him and dare us to pistol bamba up as they laugh

Im liking Bamba more and more. I do belive Texas was an absolute disaster. How is a guy with Bambas presence going to be able to show anything offensively when non of his guards or wings can hit a jumper? Defensive just collapse, clog the oaint and double Mo aggressively.
The biggest question mark i have between Mo and Ayton is their motivation. Who truly loves the game and has the passion to be great?
The qiestion to me is do we go with a wong or a big man?

Bagley i just dont see the upside tp him everybodu else does. His size limits him, his defensive awarness is worse than Aytons, he is roughly the same size as MPJ but has nowhere near the offensive skill. To me he is out of the question.

If Bamba’s wingspan is not a record breaker in the NBA, I’ll jump on the wagon were people would laugh when they let a small guy drive around him. But you better take a look on how many blocks Capela made against small folks driving around him.
The length factor goes a long way especially how the NBA is played these days. Shooters camping on the 3pt line would feast on slow footed-heavy-bodied big men. But take a look at how many long distance shot gets curved when a it’s Gobert or AD running towards them instead.
In short, the way game is played now. A quick big man has the potential to cut down the efficiency of long range bombers. Even though one does not score, he can easily drop the opponents score one long range shot at a time.

The Rockets and Warriors have absolutely nothing to do with the Kings. Things go to plan, they're out of the way/aging/changed by the time the Kings get good.

Fox had a turning point? I do remember him playing a bit better for a month or so and then regressing back to being really bad again outside of some clutch shots.
Donovan Mitchell had a turning point. Josh Jackson had a turning point. We're still waiting for Fox's to arrive.

I realize you and others here have high expectations. It's understandable, the bar has been set so high here the kings are basically the NY Yankees of the NBA. My standards are not that high though, i dont consider myself to be an instant gratification seeker. so i have a difficult time understanding your point of view.
Seems to me like people have " squeeze blood from a stone" type of expectations from a bunch of teenagers/20year olds, and little to no faith in the kings ability to develop talent.... I mean the disillusionment in the doncic thread is truly something to see, they speak of him like he's the young wolf robb stark king of the north but dont see the walder frey traps laid by many of the wests elite.

FWIW - Manute Bol had the longest wingspan in NBA history, though its unverified it stands to reason his was 8' or more. Theres a bunch of photo's that seemingly confirm this.
Also there was a report that gobet's wingspan is even longer now than it was st the combine due to stretching a few years back. He went back to Cholet who had a life size rudy like a poster on the wall and rudy's arms were clearly longer than the replica.
I didn't have crazy high expectations but I didn't think Fox looked any better in April than he did in October. He had ups and downs during the season but he had no turning point where he was all the sudden much better going forward. I don't consider that seeking instant gratification. You just want to see it going somewhere at a certain point and up to this point he's just been treading water. Hopefully this year we can see him start to turn the corner.
When this draft is over, Bamba is probably going in the 5 spot to Dallas. No way he gets taken over Ayton, Doncic, Bagley, and Porter(assuming MPJ medicals are good).
Also, a team would have to like him over JJJ AND Orlando passes on Trae Young. I'm not so. Sure Bamba doesn't slide to 7 or 8.

I think it's about the same if we pick Ayton, Jackson, or Bamba -- all three are clearly centers which makes Giles the PF if he's going to be a starter eventually. I don't mind this setup though because all three of those guys have shown flashes of shooting ability which allows you to go with a more traditional PF and not feel like the defense is going to constantly collapse the paint. Bagley is a little bit harder to figure, but I think Giles is the center in that case and we just try to outrun everybody. Doncic presents a similar problem -- do we make Giles the center? I think we'd have to because centers are suddenly really hard to find and centers who can shoot are basically Unobtainium for us unless we pick one here.
In any case, I wouldn't be worried about fit with any of the top picks with the exception of Trae Young and Collin Sexton as both would force us to push Fox over to SG or play an ultra-small lineup for large chunks of the game.

No way it’s the same Ayton/Jackson are proven shooters in college at least
Ayton was 12 for 35, Jackson was 38 for 96, and Bamba was 14 for 51. If we're going to allow for the eye test to say that Doncic's three point jumper looks better than the percentages indicate than we need to do the same for Ayton and Bamba. All three of these guys can shoot. Jackson is better right now but the only point I was making is that spacing the floor will be expected from all three of them and all of them have already shown a willingness to take that open 3 when it's there.

Perfectly fine. Mo isnt Gheorge Mhuresan both have very good footspeed for their height, mo is a match with all the bigs.

Came across this today at another site and was gonna post here but you beat me to it.
While I still lean Luka Dončić, I am very intrigued with Bamba as well.
There's just so many talented prospects in this draft and so many options it's difficult to know what to do. I wish we had 2 top 10 picks like last season.
All of Dončić, Porter, Ayton, Bamba, etc. could wind up as an elite players. Or they could all underachieve. Or a couple of them could work out.
I realize every draft is a crapshoot, but this one seems overly stacked with guys with immense potential.

I keep saying this is the best draft since 03. There's gonna be a bunch of all stars coming out of the top of this draft. Any one of these top six guys could be a number one overall as often as not.
