-No GM in the NBA is apparently more active right now than Minnesota’s David Kahn, as he’s apparently set on “making a big splash in his first draft” according to one NBA executive, and is “talking to everyone” at the moment. One rumor that is making the rounds has Minnesota sending Memphis Kevin Love in exchange for the #2 pick (and filler). Minnesota would then draft Ricky Rubio, which could help them significantly with their ticket sales, and still have the #6 pick at their disposal, which they could use to take someone like Jordan Hill.

Wow that would really suck for the Kings, great for Minn, but does anyone really think Memphis would give away #2 pick for Kevin Love?

Gosh I hope not!!!

Comment to Minny's newbie GM: Good luck with that. :p

Not sure why -- Memphis would have an absolutely atrociously unathletic frontcourt, but they precisely need a young PF, and Love showed strong down the stretch last year. 13.1 and 9.4 as a starter in only 28 minutes. Brutally strong rebounder.

This is an odd rumor. One of the one hand it seems odd that Memphis would trade back for a player they just traded away last year. However, since Mayo was a big success, it's not as it the Griz are admitting to a mistake or undermining last year's trade. Love is also a far better PF than anyone in this draft. I had posted before that the Griz might trade down with us to get Hill, because the 4 is by far their biggest hole if we gave them something else of value. Well Love's upside is much bigger than Hill. This could be win-win for both sides, although I see Memphis wanting to either ditch a bad contract or fine a way to get the #6 pick back too.

Love is a good banger and rebounder, but they already have that with Marc Gasol. Kevin Love is potentially a better scorer than Gasol is, but he's also undersized which makes it tough to see him as a #1 scoring option. I dont know why they wouldn't just trade up to take Griffin instead. The Clippers aren't going to want Mayo or Conley since they have Gordon already and they'd be drafting Rubio at #2. They might hold out for Rudy Gay, but if they want Rubio anyway they'd have to give in eventually.
