MIN fan here

I haven't really kept up with the Kings Arena situation in a while.

I am a Minnesota Vikings/Wolves fan and just had to deal with the same stuff you guys are dealing with. If we didn't get a new Vikings Stadium approved they would have likely relocated to Los Angeles. The vote narrowly got by all the hurdles (and there are about 6 of them). With the stadium getting approval, there should be Target Center renovations to come with it. That's not say we won't move one day, but should keep us here for a little while longer.

Just want to come over here to wish you guys all the best and hope you guys can get your situation cleared soon. I remember the 2004 playoffs between the Kings/Wolves and remember those great Kings team and the history they have and it would be a shame if they Sacramento. Good luck.

Thanks for the well wishes. It's nice to know there are fans of other teams around the league who recognize/sympathize with our plight.

Thanks man. Hopefully our teams will meet in the playoffs once again in a Cousins vs Love match up. You guys have great fans and a great young team too with Love, Rubio, and Adelman. I was rooting for the Vikings to stay in MN btw, you guys have a great football fanbase up there.

Same here. I think there is $150 million earmarked for a Target Center renovation to go along with the nearly $1 billion for the Vikings. The renderings on the exterior look pretty good.

If worse came to worse, they could always just move in with the Wild at the Xcel Energy Center but I'm thinking the $150 million will do the trick for the long term.

Thanks. Yeah, we had a few former Kings in Adelman and Brad Miller. It was sad to see Brad play his final game with the Wolves of all teams but he was a nice teacher to some of the young guys. I do hope for more battles down the road between the Kings and Wolves. That 2004 series was great, both places were absolutely packed and the noise was incredible.

I was worried about the Vikings moving because it really took 10 years for us to get this deal done, the old Governors basically let this go up until this year and someone finally took control. The voting still wasn't easy and barely passed. I think there was one that was like 36-31 and another that was 6-5. It's done though and now I hope you guys end up staying as well.

Thanks for the well wishes. We appreciate it. Out here, the State of California (governor) doesn't participate at all in deals like this. Not even for Sacramento as the state capitol. Funding is difficulat also, becasue California is one of the handful of States that requires a 2/3 vote to approve any increase in taxes designed to be used for a specific purpose. So any government here has to be very creative in financing.

We've been at it here for about 14 years now. We thought we had a great deal negotiated between the city and David Stern's people, until the Maloofs said no. Very disappointing, as so much time and money went into putting that deal together. We haven't given up, though.

Where in MN are you from? I grew up in St. Charles and Lake City as a kid but spent most of my years in either Minneapolis or St. Paul. I moved west 35 year ago. I tend to brag here about MN so it's good to have someone keep me in check and not exaggerate. :) 90% of my family is in MN except for one brother who is a Vikings fan living in Green Bay.

Just outside Minneapolis in Maple Grove. I'm sure you love living in the West during Sept-March. Winters are brutal here as you know. A Viking fan in Green Bay must be tough haha. Take it easy guys, good luck the rest of the way.

I'm a Vikings and Kings fan. I can't believe I have to go through this twice.

Believe it or not, I wish I was living in MN. I think other posters here have gotten that hint. My sister is in Coon Rapids, my mother, now deceased, lived in Anoka, and if I lived where you do, I'd buy me a sailboat. Don't be embarrassed by the cold winters when outsiders pick on you. The heat out here is awful and there is nothing like the scenery, lakes, and the like of the part of Minnesota you are from. Besides, Minneapolis has been rated one of the best cities in the country and I remember fondly studying for college laying on the beaches of Lake Harriet. If you lay outside here, you get char broiled. :)

I spent 12 years at U of M. I have spent more games than I can remember at one of the worst basketball arenas in the word. Go, Gophers. Williams Arena is 75 years old if I remember correctly.
