Miller for Dalembert

Sam for Brad straight up.

For Sixers: The Brand experiment turns out very less than expected. Brad, with his passing and perimeter game will compliment better to Brand post up style. Moving Dalembert won't really affect Philly's much with their acquisition of Speights, and tough defensive bigs in Evans and Ratliff. They have at least 3 very athletic player in their starting 5 (Brand, Iggy, Young) to cover up Brads possible rebounding and slow steps.

For Kings: This is not really according to plans of rebuilding or shedding caps since Sammy's contract is longer than Brad. But is way much better defender and athletic than Brad (which is really is what most are having issues with). We will have a younger, and more athletic big rotation with Hawes, Thompson, and Sam. Come draft, we'll be picking up PG (Harden/Rubio/Jennings). And hopefully still land big names in FA09 (Hedo/Marion) for the SF spot (if we can trade Salmons for expiring, along with Moore).

Possible Kings starting lineup (I wish)

C - Dalembert
PF - Hawes
SF - Marion or Hedo
SG - Martin
PG - Rubio or Jennings or Harden

Bench:
Thompson, Garcia, Greene, Beno + other rookies and FA

I'd consider it with a Beno/Thomas(how ironic) inclusion for Andre Miller.

That'd give the Kings cap space this summer and 2011 and we just avoid the 2010 year altogether, which is probably just fine to do.

How do you plan to do that with no cap room?

This move made sense when we were contending, but not now. And like Optimus said, he turned his back on Team Canada, so Philly can keep him.

Ok. I don't know he turned back on team Canada.
So you got a strong point there. :D:D:D

BTW, in cases like this where trading don't really give us cap relief. We can have an options to arrange a sign and trade with other teams, right. We still got lots of expiring (Mikki, Kenny) that's still roughly 14M we can trade for another excellent player.

Unfortunately, expirings are useless in a S&T situation, because the team we are trading with is only taking back salary, since the player they are trading is obviously a FA. We'd have to give up a youngster in a S&T. Unless it's Douby or Williams, I don't want to. At least not for anyone in the 2009 class

At some point, I hope the idea of trading for existing players with limited future potential will become moot.

We don't need Dalembert. We need to keep on biting the bullet as long as the pain continues. And we have to let the rebuilding run its course. Trading Miller straight across for Dalembert doesn't do anything for our future and might actually hinder Hawes' development.

So, no thanks...
