Mikki is kickin it at the Roseville Galleria right now. I own a kiosk in the mall and I was just sitting here checking out the forum and then I look up and see Mikki Moore  He is just walking around with his girl shopping and being a very nice guy to everyone that comes up asking for autographs. Just wanted to give Mikki props for being a nice guy and happily signing any autographs.

It's good to have players like that in our community. I have more then enough bad encounters with players being an *** oh wait it was just one guy.....Mike Bibby! I loved him on the court but I am glad to have Mike and team dime out of our city and clubs causing trouble. Although Mike Bibby did sing happy birthday to my wife one year!

Proof! lol........yes I am really bored.

i think he was worth the money at the time, a hell lot better then playing kenny thomas at PF. I think he was a key part of the starting 5 we had going this yr, not that anyone gave him much credit for it. Hes a great guy and if we sign a star player in the future i have no doubts he wouldnt mind coming off the bench to help the team

How do you figure? How is starting Mikki Moore better then starting Kenny Thomas? Neither player is very good but at their very best Kenny has put up better numbers then Moore at his very best. On top of that we would have saved the money being paid to Mikki and been able to possibly showcase KT in order to hopefully facilitate a trade. You say Moore was "a key part of the starting 5"? Our starting 5 that he was such a key part of was utterly mediocre the entire season, in large part due to the fact that we didn't have a good PF.

I pretty sure when GP signed Moore he wasn't necessarily thinking of him as starting PF for the Kings even though he would be competing for the job. He was just as likely to be reserve center ahead of Hawes. Kings brass was figuring that KT or SAR would probably be the starting PF. KT did start a lot of the games early in the season and lots before that rotating with SAR. Hopefully, Moore is off the bench way more next season with perhaps Hawes, Sheldon, or ??? as starter. Considering KT debacle and uncertainty of SAR's knee - Mikki playing in all 82 games was iron man service. Still, he didn't produce very much for the first half of the season with too much inconsistency and hands of stone syndrome. I believe Moore has only has one guaranteed year left in his deal with the Kings and then some kind of buyout. Also, it would be nice if he came to camp in better shape than he did in his first season in Sac since he'll turn 33 just as next season starts. Moore is a good guy by all accounts and excellent in the locker room. Would clearly make a way better cheer leader on the bench than K-dog.

I look at it as more of a chemistry thing. Kenny Thomas is an overpaid, mopey player that hated his situation. It's just too bad he isn't good enough to be on any other team's situation. At least Mikki brings energy and some form of leadership. He seems to command respect from a lot of the younger players, something I would never say of KT.

What did Kenny Thomas do to get on the s**t-list? There were several games when the team could have used Thomas. It seems to me that Kenny must have really POed Reggie. However, benching him mainly for ego issues seems pretty lame to me. I think Rick Adelman used to do that sort of thing. Lawrence Funderburke, etc.

I assume you noticed that Adelman's "short-list" substitution protocol probably cost the Houston Rockets at least one game against Utah. Tracy McGradey simply can't play effectiively for 40 minutes, and Jerry Sloan knows it!

Mikki is a solid character guy and I like his hustle and emotion. I also think that knocking Mike Bibby is kind of mean spirited. The only thing he ever did to you was sing happy birthday to your wife. Sounds like a pretty nice thing to do to me.
I saw him several times a week at my place of business and he was ALWAYS pleasant and nice. So were his friends. You just might want to cut him a little slack.

If you don't know how KT got on the S......T list, I can't explain it to you.

I have had at least 10 encounters with Mike Bibby sometimes at my work, sometimes at a club. He takes advantage of getting free comps and never tips even when amazing service is given. He acts like a stuck up a hole sometimes. I have seen team dime get into numerous altercations inside clubs and it always seems like they are the ones starting the trouble. At my work Mike Bibby acting like a pig around the cocktail waitresses and trying to take them home with him. They all walk around like they are badass. Out of the many times I seen him there were a few were he was alone and did not say much which was ok, then MOST of the time he was quite a stuck up cheap a hole, but there was only one time where he was actually really cool. He sat next to us at Cheesecake Factory and when they sang my wife happy bday he sang along. So yeah that was a very nice gesture but does it make up for the numerous other times he was an a hole? I dunno bout that. I have come across many Kings players over the years and he was the only one to ever be like that.

All that said I still love what Mike did for us on the court.

One of the nicest people ever off the court was Bobby Jackson.

KT has the option to opt out of his contract this year. The franchise basically sent him a message saying he is not a part of this teams future. Therefore he will be on the bench for these next 2 years and never play or he can opt out and play somewhere else saving us MILLIONS. Another option that may surface is the fact that we could buy him out for less than his contract states and he may agree to that considering he will not see the court for the next 2 seasons. In a nutshell we don't want KT on our team and he can leave or take less money with a buy out or rot on the bench.

And the bottom line is that Kenny Thomas will NOT opt out of his contract. He is due to get some $16 odd million over 2 years. There is NO way he will walk away from that. None what so ever. No one in their right mind would.

He might accept a buyout but it won't be for significantly less than what he is due to receive from us in the next 2 years.

Why would anyone in their right mind walk away from guaranteed $16 odd million over the next 2 years. No one would. We talk about pride and all that other egoistic crap but bottom line is, many will swallow their pride for that much money. Kenny is no different.

I suspect we would try to negotiate to buy out his contract but it won't be for a figure that it will be significantly less than the $16 odd million over 2 years.

yeah I know most ppl would leave. I was just going over his options. either way KT is not going to play for the KINGS next season. He may sit on our bench but, he will not play. I'd imagine we will shop him in some package deal maybe for a contract that ends 1 year sooner and if that doesn't happen in a timely manner we will buy him out late. Maybe we can save 2 or 3 mil with a buyout.

Bobby lived down the street from where I grew up. Wheneveer I drove past Bobby's house I ALWAYS saw him out chatting it up with the neighbors. He always seemed to enjoy the people that lived around him. I think Bobby's an amazing guy(I know he took his nephew in and raised him up). To this day I think Bobby Jackson the player and person is probably my all-time favorite King. The guy is awesome.

Kenny was HORRIBLE the last several times he saw any PT at all. In addition, he was reported as having a lingering back or leg problem, I forget which... At some point, it was pretty clear to all concerned that he wasn't a part of the team in any real sense.

We don't see practices so we have no idea what goes on. What we didn't see was ANYONE coming out and publicly asking what the deal was about KT not playing, however, so I think it would be fairly safe to conclude there were things going on that were never made public. It could be poor conditioning, it could be poor attitude, it could be lingering injury of some kind, it could be a combination of any or all of those, it could be something completely different.

Regardless of the why, the bottom line was that the Kings paid a pretty nice sum of money to someone who just sat there... and I think some people aren't real happy about it.

KT is the last remnant of those "flexible pieces" we received for Webber. My personal feeling is that he needs to be gone to completely close the book on that part of Kings history and move forward.

Kenny's per-40 stats for 2007-8:

4.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 0.1 block, 3.0 TOs, while shooting 42% at FG and 0.0% at FT

If you took an average of Darryl Watkins and Lorenzen Wright's stats as Kings this year, you'd have a close approximation of Kenny's. That's unacceptable in a player you can't waive.
